    • German episode title: "Trotz Verwarnung", meaning "Despite Warning"

    • This is the second of George Kee Cheung's two, unrelated appearances on T.J. Hooker. He can also be seen in season three's "Chinatown."

    • In some of the show's publicity and coverage, it is suggested that Hooker is Stacy's godfather. This fact was never actually mentioned on-screen in the series; the nearest we ever got to verifying it is in this episode. Corrigan comments that Hooker was present at Stacy's birth, and is "...like a godfather to her". From that, it can be taken that Hooker isn't actually her godfather (though just as well might be).

    • Episodes return to having no on-screen title. They would return in later episodes.

    • With the new season's updated opening credits, along with some new footage used in the sequence, the credits font - after being changed to a much flashier font (literally!) third season - reverts back to a plainer style yellow font here (though it is not identical to the one used in the first and second seasons).
(The next broadcast episode, 'The Two Faces of Betsy Morgan', had a one-off return of the third season-style font.)

    • With the new season, another new slight variation on the theme tune is used. Once again, to the casual viewer, it could be easily mistaken for the one same version, but with closer inspection, it can be heard to have some differences.
The closing credits also have a slightly different re-recorded version to that used in the third season.
These are the opening and closing versions of the theme that would continue to be used for the rest of the show's run.

    • A good chance to see William Shatner doing some of his own stunt driving: As Hooker and Romano's patrol car races up to the scene of Stacy's shooting, it speeds along the road, and skids 90 degrees to a halt, and Shatner and Adrian Zmed rush out. Maybe not as extravagant as some of the series' other stunts, but noteworthy for allowing one of the stars to do their own stunt driving (something TV producers are loathe of, in case the star hurts themselves – meaning legal / insurance implications and more importantly, hold up in production!)

    • "The Big Guy"'s real name is never given.
