Corrigan and Stacey chase a couple of liquor store robbers into a work yard. Stacey gets a concussion in the shootout. She goes to the hospital for treatment. She decides to take some time off because of the killing of a minor. Hooker and Corrigan tell her it's not her fault. She is on her way to her sister's house when she gets into a car wreck. A man stops when the truck driver flags him down. He says he's a doctor and that he will take her to his home to recover. He also says he will call in the accident to the police. Stacey wakes up in shock. The man calms her down and tells her what happened. She finds out she has amnesia and doesn't know her name or what she does for a living. Hooker and Corrigan are called in to find 2 escaping mental patient. The one that is a dangerous killer is the man who has Stacey in the house. He had been in medical school, but was thrown out for unfit behavior. Stacey starts walking around in the house and she goes down to the cellar and is spooked. The camera pans down to a hand of a dead person. Hooker goes to a strip joint to talk to the sister of the man holding Stacey. Hooker and Corrigan track down a lead from the sister. They chase the friend of the mental patient and he tells them of a house where they broke into and were living. Stacey sees the man tell another man at the door that the doctor is away. She now tries to get away from him. She sneaks down to the cellar to get away. She Finds the real doctor dead and the man catches her. Stacey suddenly remembers she is a cop as he is telling her about himself for real. She takes off running and gets outside into the woods. He catches her and takes her back to the house. Hooker talks to the truck driver and finds out where the doctor's house was. Stacey escapes again and opens the door and Corrigan grabs her. He and Hooker trap the man, Corrigan shoots him to save Hooker. The man survives and they take him away. This is a very good episode. The mental patient is very believable as a doctor and does a wonderful job changing into a deranged killer. Stacey also does a fine job as the "woman in distress" role.
