    • (in a car with a jammed-open window)
Hooker: I can't feel my ear; I think its frozen. I really can't feel my ear. (sarcastic) I love your weather—rain one minute, then sunshine the next.
Det. Stover: Well, hang on three more blocks, and you might see snow.

    • Hooker: (to young robber whose friend has been killed) What's the matter with you? What are you doing robbing a liquor store with a toy gun?
Youth: My friend needed a fix.
Hooker: "A fix?" He needed a fix?! He's fixed now, isn't he? For good!

    • Hooker: So the captain calls me in Friday and says, "Congratulations, Hooker, you're a Detective. You got your gold shield back". I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. And then he says, "You're gonna go places", and I figure he's talking about my career. What he means is, I gotta go to Chicago, and pick up one Louie "The Finder" Felcher, wanted in California for fencing stolen property. Which is how I find myself in Chicago, in one of the coldest Winters in fifty years. The only thing between me and frostbite is an eight ounce, mail order raincoat I borrowed from lost & found. Tough it out, Hooker. It's three hours, and you're outta here.

  • Notes

    • German episode title: "Auf nach Chicago", meaning "Off to Chicago"

    • When the producers were considering revamping the show, this was their proposed plot.

    • We hear in Hooker's opening narration, that he's got his Detective badge back. This is never really explained in any real depth, and doesn't seem to follow through to the next season.

    • Though credited, James Darren, Heather Locklear, and Adrian Zmed do not appear in this episode.
