Hooker and Stacey take Hooker's kids Tommy & Chrissy out to play some games on the wharf. A fire starts and Hooker ;eaves the kids with Stacey. Tommy runs over to see if Hooker is ok and Stacey follows him. The fire is put out and they discover that Chrissy is gone. They bring in the police to look for her. Stacey blames herself for leaving Chrissy alone and Hooker tells her it's not her fault. Hooker loses it when he realizes his kid has been kidnapped. Hooker and crew start a house to house search for her. Stacey pulls a gun on a man, wife and blond girl after she is told the man had a shady past by one of the neighbors. Turns out it was the guys kid and he was taking her to the doctor. Stacey feels awful and appologizes to him. Fran Hooker comes down to stay with Tommy as they continue the search. A cop receives a note to Hooker. It is a ransom note from the kidnapper and a bracelet that was hers. Hooker brings in a friend from the FBI. They analyse the note and figure he is unbalanced and dangerous. Chrissy is shown with kidnapper. She is sorry she went along with him. He lets it known that he knows Hooker. Hooker gets a sketch of the kidnapper and knows it's Marty Latham, an old partner of his. He quit and went over to the mob. The kidnapper calls Hooker home and demands to talk to Hooker in a half hour. Tommy is at home blaming himself and Hooker tells him it all partly their fault. Marty then calls back and talks to Hooker. He demands to have his family back. Hooker says he will help after his daughter is back with him. He says no and takes off. They trace the call and get a witness to help them with the car they took off in. Hooker chases him and Marty crashes the car. He walks away right before it explodes. Hooker thinks Chrissy is inside, but she was not. Hooker finds out Marty's family is under the new identity program because of the fear from the mob. He begs his FBI friend to get in contact with her and he says he already tried. They find an address in the charred card Marty crashed in and they go to look for him there. He is gone. They find an RV receipt and go to look for him again. Hooker goes up in a chopper to find the RV. He gets a lead they might be in a camp ground nearby. He get there to find Chrissy running from Marty. Hooker jumps off the Helicopter, jumps onto Marty and knocks him out, and saves his daughter. At the end Hooker and family have a nice get together at his home. Jim drops by to tell him they found Marty's family. Hooker agress to tell them what had happened. This is a very good start to the final season. The kidnap story always works and Shatner is at his best here. It's too bad they could not get Lee Bryant, the actress who originally played his ex wife in the first season.moreless
