When Hooker's personal vehicle leaves the bar, the inner filament of the left tail light is out. When he leaves the crime scene moments later to find the yellow-jacketed bad guy, it is working perfectly.
Sheridan: Hooker.
Hooker: Yes, sir?
Sheridan: You and Romano were supposed to be on the streets twenty minutes ago.
Hooker: Yes, sir. (looks at watch) One of Mickey's hands must be slow.
Romano: Hooker! I'm sittin' here pouring out a lifetime of knowledge and you're makin' light.
Hooker: "A lifetime?" My tires are older than you, Junior.
German episode title: "Eine gefährliche Falle", meaning "A Dangerous Trap"
The third season Starsky & Hutch episode "The Heroes" is also about a newspaper reporter assigned to accompany the detective leads of that series, who ultimately causes problems for the duo. And by coincidence or otherwise, the reporter of that story is played by Karen Carlson, who also plays the reporter in this episode.
Although this was the first regular episode of the series shown after the Pilot, it was in fact the second one to me made (as reflected in the production number).
