An off duty police officer(Phil) takes his wife and kid to the grocery store. A man named Carl Beaman comes up to him and says "You remember me, Carl Beaman" and shoots him. Hooker and crew get the call. Hooker finds out he is dead. He consoles his wife and kid. Corrigan goes to see his partner Kerry Dunston. He tells him his partner is dead. Beaman is watching them as they talk and he drives away. Hooker asks Kerry and Corrigan to check the old files thay worked on. A hooker is at the station and wants to know who killed her hooker friend. Hooker tells her it will take time. Hooker rousts a man named Jackpot to get a lead. He tells him to check with his partner Kerry Dunston. Later on that night, Hooker helps the widow deal with the death if her husband. Hooker talks to another cop to see if the hookers death has any leads. He says he needs help. Later on detective O'brien lets Hooker know that there is talk of him moving in on the dead cop wife and that it is his partner's job to console her. Hooker goes over to set everyone straight. Just then the widow calls Hooker and says a man followed her son and Kerry in a car. Hooker stops Beaman from getting a good shot at Kerry in a parking lot. He drives off and gets away. The next day Hooker talks with the hooker about her friend. Hooker thinks maybe they were after the hooker that is still alive. They would switch calls when the other was not available. Corrigan and Stacey find out the hooker and Phil were killed with the same gun and the same way. Corrigan and Stacey find out that Carl Beaman was just released from prison and had a grudge against Phil and Kerry and the hooker. The hooker had testified against Carl in his trial. Hooker and Kerry go at it in the station. Hooker is tired of not getting help from Kerry. Hooker did some digging and found out that Kerry's girlfriend was that hooker that testified against Beaman. Turns out she just said it happened that way because Kerry told her too. Hooker decides to dress like Kerry to bring out Beaman. Kerry hears the setup on the radio and goes out to get Beaman himself. Kerry comes in right when Beaman is ready to shoot Hooker. Beamen shoots Kerry and Hooker shoots Beaman. Kerry tells Hooker he was in on the frame by himself and Phil knew nothing about it. Beaman was guilty, but Kerry wanted to make sure he went down and that's why he had his hooker girlfriend testify. A very good episode here with Gary Lockwood as a cop who went too far to get his man. This is a renuion of sorts, he worked with Shatner on Star Trek.moreless
