It appears as though there are some big political problems going on behind-the-scenes in TNA right now. According to the Observer newsletter, the company lives and dies by the weekly ratings for their "iMPACT!" show on Spike TV. Due to recent numbers, which aren't as good as they once were or are hoped for now, blame is starting to be spread.

The World champion of the company seemingly takes the brunt of the heat or credit if the numbers are down or up, which many feel isn't fair right now in the case of Samoa Joe - the current champion.

Despite numbers being down and Samoe Joa as champion right now, historically, Joe has drawn the biggest numbers in the company history on pay-per view, matched up against Kurt Angle.

TNA Impact spoilers for 7/31 and 8/7
Thanks to PWInsider reader Alex Hernandez for calling in the following results from tonight's TNA Impact taping in Orlando, FL:

*Beer Money defeated Christian Cage and Rhino to earn a TNA Hard Justice Tag Team title shot against LAX after Team 3D interfered. Cage and Rhino challenged 3D to a match at the PPV.

*Jay Lethal & Shark Boy & Curry Man defeated Johnny Devine & The Rock and Rave Infection. Lethal takes the mic and was going to propose again to So Cal Val, but she says she lost the ring. Lethal gets upset and walks off.

*Booker T comes to the ring to give Samoa Joe a "tour of the Six Sides of Steel." Joe comes out and they start to brawl. Someone drops a bat from the rafters and Booker nails Joe with it. AJ Styles comes out to check on Joe. He takes the mic and demands Sting show himself, saying he's tired of making excuses for him. Sting's music plays, but out comes Kurt Angle, who nails several Olympic Slams on Styles and leaves him laying.

*In a non-title bout, Consequences Creed defeated X-Division champion Petey Williams.

*Backstage, AJ Styles challenges Kurt Angle to a Last Man Standing bout at the Hard Justice PPV.

*Matt Morgan pinned Sal Rinauro. He called out Tomko and they brawled until security broke it up. They break free of security and Morgan lays out Tomko.

*Gail Kim & TNA Knockout champ Taylor Wilde defeated The Beautiful People. Awesome Kong hit the ring after the bout, laying out Kim and Taylor. ODB and Roxxi chased her off.

The Reason Why Kevin Nash Walked out of Tuesday's taping
    Posted by: Wrestling-Radio.com
    - Dave Meltzer is reporting that Kevin Nash's walk out at Tuesday's taping was due to his dislike for the way he was going to be booked in the main event. The plan was for Nash to be eliminated in a 10 man gauntlet during a commercial break. Nash didn't like the idea which they refused to change so he walked out. The gauntlet ended up not even taking place after all. Apparently things are ok between Nash and TNA now and he is expected back at the Hard Justice PPV.

TNA drew a solid 1.1 cable rating for last week's edition of Impact. An average of 1.6 million viewers tuned in during the show. The rating is up from the 1.05 and 1.02 of the previous two weeks. The Knockouts were given the main event slot, a match pitting Velvet Sky & Angelina Love against Taylor Wilde & Gail Kim, and they delivered with a show-high 1.18 quarter hour rating. The match did one of the best numbers for an Impact main event, perhaps even ever. And unlike most Impact main events, they didn't lose viewers for a change. The only quarter hour that came close to the Knockouts main event was Q4, which drew a 1.16 rating a Booker T-Samoa Joe in-ring segment, as well as the A.J. **** promo that followed it and a backstage segment featuring "The Beautiful People" with Shark Boy and Curry Man.

Consequences Creed is said to be in line for a big push in the coming months.

-Karen's Angle with The Beautiful People

    ------------

    And an update:

    source: the wrestling observer

As we reported several weeks ago, Kevin Nash walked out of a July 29th iMPACT taping when he became unhappy with a planned match he was to be involved in. Nash has a creative control deal in his contract which stipulates he must approve of whatever TNA books for him. He was booked for the July 29th taping in a 10 man weapons gauntlet match and an interview. After reading the script, he got upset that it was a "weapons" gauntlet as he doesn't like being in matches like that and complained that the company was showcasing too many weapons-****matches on free TV.

Nash was also upset when he was booked to be eliminated third in the match during a commercial along with BG James and Lance Hoyt. He felt none of it made sense, said he wasn't doing it, and went home. The belief is that if 90% of the wrestlers on the TNA roster had done this then they would be gone, but since Nash is who he is he got away with it. Even people who are not big fans of Nash backstage felt he was in the right on this decision and were not criticizing him for it.

It should also be noted that Nash was already said to be upset with TNA before this incident took place. Nash had scheduled a vacation to last until July 15 as he wasn't booked on the Victory Road PPV in Houston. He then got a call that he had to be on the PPV, so he cut his vacation two days short, flew to Houston and when he got there he was told he was only needed for one backstage segment with Samoa Joe.

Keep in mind, though, that Nash has been very open to putting over the younger guys and really has been all about helping TNA and not causing any issues. For the most part, things appear to be back to normal at this point.

Thanks to James for sending in these results from last night's TNA iMPACT tapings that will air next Thursday night, the 21st.

    - Hernandez d. Robert Roode

    - BG James & Eric Young d. the Motor City Machine Guns. The Guns didn't really play heel during the match and the crowd was for them. After the match, BG & Eric shook hands with Shelley, but when BG put his hand out to Sabin, Sabin slapped him and a brawl then occurred. Security came out to separate both teams.

    - Matt Morgan d. Frankie Capone. Brother Ray came out running down Morgan on the mic after the match, and then got in the ring. Brother Devon then snuck up on Morgan from behind and the team took Morgan down. Abyss then came out for the save.

    - Booker T d. Rhino in a qualifying match for the fatal four-way main event at No Surrender. Christian Cage came out during the match and carried Sharmell to the back.

    - Consequences Creed vs. Petey Williams in an X-Division Championship Match went to a no-contest after Sheik Abdul Bashir interfered and knocked out the referee. He beat down Creed and then started arguing with Petey, though nothing ever happened between the two.

    - Awesome Kong d. Gail Kim in a Street Fight. After the match, Gail's sister (I'm guessing) hopped the rail and got in the ring to help her. Kong got her but ODB and Roxxi made the save before she could do anything.

    - AJ **** (w/Samoa Joe) d. Kurt Angle (w/Booker T) in a ladder match for Angle's gold medal. Booker and Joe fought multiple times around the ring. As AJ and Angle were both near the top of the ladder, the lights went out and Jeff Jarrett's music hit. When the lights came back on, AJ had the guitar and smashed it over Angle's head which allowed him to grab the medal for the win.

    - ODB & Roxxi d. Jacqueline & Rhaka Khan for Xplosion.

    - Jay Lethal d. Johnny Devine for Xplosion.

On last night's edition of TNA Impact, a flash screen appeared during Taylor Wilde and Christy Hemme's match that read "Who is Suicide?" It appears that the TNA website has this phrase linked to a Myspace page that features a masked wrestler who may have ties to a created character in TNA's upcoming video game. This has lead some to believe that the character could be a way for Kaz to be re-introduced on TV, and TNA is utilizing a viral campaign to plant the seeds for the angle. Suicide is who you start out as in Story Mode in the upcoming video game before getting beat up by Homicide and being dumped in the desert in Mexico. Suicide is supposedly beaten up so bad that he has to go to a plastic surgeon in Mexico and that's how you create your character for the Story Mode. To view the MySpace page for the Suicide character, click here.
