Eric Bischoff is said to be very high on TNA newcomer Orlando Jordan. Jordan, who is openly bisexual, is having his character based around his bisexuality.
Jordan kissed a man prior to his match with Samoa Joe at last night's iMPACT! taping in Orlando. The former WWE United States Champion was escorted to the ring by a man and a woman. He had his arms around both of them and kissed each prior to his match.
This reportedly didn't go over well with everyone backstage in TNA as some felt the company "crossed the line" as it were. One TNA performer offered the opinion that the angle will turn off viewers from Spike considering it's specifically geared towards men.
It's worth noting that before Jordan's release from World Wrestling Entertainment in May 2006, there were creative plans for him to be repackaged with a bisexual gimmick in a storyline involving former TNA performer Stephanie Finochio (a/k/a Trinity) and a friend of his with no prior background in the wrestling industry. While bisexuality is considered taboo in some wrestling circles, it was passed for Jordan since it's his lifestyle in the real world. It should be noted that the storyline was Jordan's idea because creative had no plans for him at the time.
|Jeff Hardy's trial on four cases begins tomorrow in the Superior Court of Moore County, North Carolina. Hardy was arrested on September 11, 2009 and indicted on January 4, 2010. Below are the details on all four cases: * Felony drug trafficking, two felony charges of possession of a Schedule III controlled substance or drug. * Felony possession of cocaine and a felony charge for maintaining a dwelling for retribution of controlled substances * Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia * Conspiracy to traffic opium for trafficking four or more grams but less than fourteen grams of opium/heroin Hardy faces a total of five felonies, a misdemeanor charge and a conspiracy charge. The conspiracy to traffic opium charge is newly added. A 12-person jury will hear the case and ultimately determine if he is "guilty" or "not guilty" on each charge. If Hardy is found guilty on any of the charges, there will be another court date for sentencing. -Force Of Wrestling|
Which begs the question: "Why the hell did TNA sign Hardy if he's going to jail? Is he doing tapings in between doing time?"

There is talk again about reducing the number of PPV's to 6-8 shows per year and running three hour specials on Spike. Reducing the number of PPV's will help the company financially as since bringing in the big names they are losing more money than ever before.
Spike sent out a press release yesterday claiming Impact averaged a 0.9 rating on Monday night. The actual rating was 0.79, according to Nielsen, but a Spike rep said they rounded the number up. Not sure what they were rounding it up to. Quarter hours were 0.74, 0.84, 0.83, 0.85, 0.78, 0.65, 0.72, 0.80 and 0.97 for an overrun which ran just over 30 seconds.
Cameron, Orlando Jordan's storyline companion, is gone from the company. Apparently they have already found someone to replace him if they decide to continue the gimmick. This stems partly from a bar incident following the last live Impact. Something happened on the dance floor of the Hard Rock which led to an intoxicated Ric Flair cutting a promo on the kid and making him cry. This all went down in front of a major television executive. Flair's wife was also present and was apologizing to people afterwards. Cameron showed up to the Tuesday taping the next day but was not used.
|Actually their random shows are better than their iMpact stuff. Sad I know. |
The shows should air on Wednesdays and Thursday.
I guess it was just a matter of time right? There are issues with Jeff Hardy already. You'd think he'd learn by now.
