  • Weak card, weak PPV. Find out what I thought about TNA Sacrifice 2007.

TNA Pay-Per-View #2. And here we go:

    X-Division Championship (Triple Threat)

Chris Sabin def. Sonjay Dutt and "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal (3.5/5)

This was a good way to start off the PPV. But......I still cannot take Jay Lethal serious. This "Macho Man" ripoff is killing the guy, and what pisses me off is that the fans LOVE it. I bet if the WWE did the same thing (but used the "original" Randy Savage to make it work), they'd bash it straight to hell. And again, the fans started another pointless T-N-A chant after, get this? Jay Lethal did a double axe handle from the top rope to the floor. Oye. Though, the way the match ended kinda killed it: Sabin rolled Dutt over and grabbed the tights for leverage. Yes, Sabin was a heel. But was that really necessary? Just wondering.

Robert Roode def. Jeff Jarrett (2/5)

Boy was this match long and boring. Roode can't put on a good match, neither can Jarrett. Then again, when you're the owner of a wrestling company, you can do just about anything you want, now can you? Honestly, I can't buy Jarrett as a credible champion (back then), nor can I buy him as a face.

    Christopher Daniels def. Rhino (2/5)

The third match of the night, and it wasn't all that good. I honestly don't like this new character for Daniels, nor do I like his "new" style of wrestling. After the match, Daniels was busted wide open and got beaten up. So what? The match wasn't all that good.

The Basham Brothers def. Kip James (0/5)

I'm not a fan of hondicap matches. They're time wasters. Besides, this was a god awful match. And where is this whole VKM/Christy Hemme feud going? Please, end this. The only thing this feud is doing, is waste valuable PPV time.

    Texas Death Match

"Wildcat" Chris Harris def. "Cowboy" James Storm (4/5)

There goes those annoying, pointless T-N-A chants again. People, be patient and WAIT for them to do something before you open your mouths. But enough about that. This match was great. It had blood, tables, trash can lids, beer bottles. Just a very bloody match. However, Mike Tenay and Don West kinda overrated the match in my view. It was basically a "No Disqualification" Match, like the WWE. Only more blood. That was all.

Jerry Lynn def. Alex Shelley, Senshi and Tiger Mask 4 (3.5/5)

Yet another good match, with no unnecessary pops from the crowd. THANK YOU!!!! I loved this match. One thing, I like Japanese wrestlers, so seeing Tiger Mask 4 was a small treat. Secondly, I like Senshi. Good mat wrestling, good wrestling holds, good fast paced action near the climax. The one thing that kinda killed it was Chris Sabin and BOB "FRICKING" BACKLUND running in after the match was over. And that's all I have to say about that.

NWA World Tag Team Championship (Triple Threat)

Team 3D def. Tyson Tomko and Scott Steiner and LAX (1.5/5)

Not that good of a tag team title match. Tomko and Steiner? Come on. Tomko is the IWGP Tag Team champion with Giant Bernard (A-Train), which Steiner most definitely is not. Homicide was all right, Hernandez was pretty cool for a big man. Team 3D was wrestling the same match as always. Nothing special here. Except seeing Rick Steiner made his return to PPV after 6 years out of action. But, it wasn't all that special if ya ask me.

Samoa Joe def. A.J Styles (3/5)

A pretty decent match between 2 "Ring of Honor" alumni. And strangely enough, just like the Fatal 4-Way, the fans kept their big mouths shut. I'm sure these 2 have had better matches in the past, but oh well. The one thing I liked around the match was Joe playing possum on Styles, which was pretty funny.

NWA World Heavyweight Championship (Triple Threat)

Kurt Angle def. Sting and Christian Cage (2/5)

Okay. This was a main event for a PPV? Geez. If anything, "Cowboy" James Storm and "Wildcat" Chris Harris would've been a better way to end the night. The only good thing out of this match was Kurt's double ankle lock on both Cage and Sting (that was something out of the ordinary). But what REALLY killed it was the crappy ending: Sting had Christian pinned while he was tapping out to the ankle lock by Angle. They crown Angle as the new champion and the show ended. That's it? That's how you close a show? Come on.

Overall, I give TNA Sacrifice a 21/45. Weak card, weak matches, weak ending. Everything about this PPV was weak. Hopefully Slammiversary can do something to combat this.moreless
