  • Matt Morgan may not have joined the MEM at the 7th anniversary of Slammiversary, but [shockingly] Samoa Joe sure did!

Match 1 King of the Mountain Match for the X Division Title- Suicide(c) v. Lethal v. Shelley v. Creed v. Sabin 8/10

Fantastic opener. TNA has a tendency to open their PPV's with the X-Division... an idea that I'm certainly not complaining about. As you can epect from the lest couple of Impact!'s from the weeks leading up to the PPV, it's not too suprising that EVERYONE teams up to get Suicide. Although, it was suprising that nobody even tried to get Suicide to take his mask off.

As you can expect from the X division lots of fast paced, high flying action with one memorable spot where Suicide does a crossbody from the top of the penalty box to Shelley (or was it Sabin?...can't remember). Suicide defies the odds yet again by pulling the win out o a hat.

Match 2 For Daniel's TNA roster spot- Douglas vs Daniels 4/10

As I expected, worst match of the PPV. Ever since Douglas came back, I knew he was just going to have time consuming, slow-paced boring matches. At least I was wrong about one thing... it certainly wasn't time consuming since Daniels hit the BME out of no where at about the 7 minute mark to secure his roster spot (Thank the heavans!!!)

NOTE: Douglas legitly broke his ankle in this match... how does someone break an ankle if nobody even applied leg submissions or didn't even run?

Match 3 Mixed Partners Monster's Ball Match-

Raven and Daffney v. Abyss and Wilde 8/10

Props to TNA to show that the woman can play with the big boys of hardcore. Wilde had a great spot when she did a diving splash to Daffney onto a table. Suprisingly even Abyss got a piece of Daffney lading her on a pile of thumbtacks. It looked like the end of the ,match Raven did a Raven Effect onto thumbtacks, but the monster still had life in him. Abyss landed an awesome black hole slam on Raven onto thumbtacks for the win.

Match 4 TNA Knockout's Woman's Title- Beautiful People member Angelina Love (c) vs Tara 4.5/10

Like Angelina's latest stream of matches she ended this one when another member of the B. People got Tara with hairspray for the 1-2-3.

Match 5 MEM leader Sting vs Matt Morgan 6.5/10

An average match with a suprise kick out at 2 and a half from Morgan after Sting hit the Death Drop. He went for it a 2nd time, but this time from the 2nd rope to get the 1-2-3.

Because of Morgan's fantastic match with Angle a few weeks ago, I honestly expected better from these two.

Match 6 TNA World Tag Titles- Beer Money Inc vs Team 3D(c) 7.5/10

Great tag team action that intensifies when the British Invasion make their way to the ring. Beer Money gets the suprise win thanks to a distraction from the Brit Invasion which resulted in Doug Williams getting dropped from the ring apron to a table. A DUI later from Beer Money later and we've got new tag champs.

Match 7 King of the Mountain Match for the TNA World Title- Foley (c) v. AJ v. Joe v. Angle v. Jarrett 8.5/10 Fantastic main event to end the show. Once the bell rang Joe brutally attacked Kurt resulting in Kurt qualifying to get the belt by DQ (WTF? There's DQ in a KOTM match?) Various times it looked as if AJ was going to get a 2nd belt in addition to his TNA Legends title. A memorable spot included Foley qualifying with a diving elbow drop from the penalty box on Angle. The end came when Samoa Joe (title in hand) and Kurt Angle were both on the ladder. Quite possibly the most shocking moment in TNA for 2009, Joe merely handed the belt to Angle making Kurt the new TNA World Champ. When Kurt celebrated, the rest of the MEM came out clapping signifying Joe as the newest member to the MEM ending quite possibly TNA's PPV of the year.

    Overall 8.5/10

Despite the horrible Knockouts match and horrible Douglas match, this was a fantastic PPV thanks to the Intergender Monster's Ball match, TNA Tag Title match, and (of course)the 2 KOTM matches.moreless
