  • Bobbie Whaling & Yvette unicycle act full of laughs, thrills and chills.

Ed Sullivan show featuring Bobbie Whaling and Yvette (comedic bicycle act) as one of the acts. They used long poles to spin plates to music, Yvette would pose and then take center stage, ride the unicycle with Bobbie around the stage. I must say that I am prejudiced because they were my aunt and uncle. The episode on Ed Sullivan show was recorded in front of a live audience. I have a copy of their act that is, sadly, not of good quality. However, it is wonderful to see them mentioned online. I remember going to a studio in Toronto in the late 1950's to watch their unicycle act as well as the twirling plates that completely amazed those who watched from the seats. What I remember the most is the applause signs and the laughter when they performed their stunts.moreless
