Tono to Issho is a comedic Japanese TV anime series. Tono to Issho follows the earlier OVA adaptation and is based on Ohba-Kai's 4-koma gag manga about the exploits of generals during Japan's tumultuous sengoku period (Era of the Warring States). The cartoon follows the lives of Date Masamune, Uesugi Kenshin, Kagetsuna Katakura, and other famous territorial lords. If you know the history of Japan, or don't, the historical characters will make you laugh as they translate fearless samurai into mindless idiots. If you know a lot about Japanese history then you'll probably get more enjoyment out of the show. It features a bunch of new gags every week, and one of the guest stars is none other than the world-famous Gackt who plays Uesugi Kenshin. Tatsuhisa Suzuki stars as Masamune Date. Episodes are thirty minutes long. The show is produced by the Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation (YTV) and directed by Mankyuu.
