One of the best of the classics! And so smart too.

Fave ep...maybe the one where TC gets made a cop, or where Dibble thinks TC is dying.

Or the one with Benny's mum. So sweet.

    Whadda you guys think?

I was a fan of this show when I was a child. When it was released on DVD a few years ago I got it as a Christmas gift. It was great to have the complete series, to be able to watch them all again was a real treat. It quickly became my second favorite Hanna-Barbera cartoon of all time (The Flintstones will always be #1). Well written, well acted, best animation (as far as H-B television animation goes). I highly recommend the DVD box set if you don't already own it!

I loved that show. Too bad I don't have Boomerang. I might follow your advice and buy the DVD set at the risk of being called "obsessive" by *ahem* certain persons. Please.

Top Cat is not that good a cartoon. It has the great Hanna Barbera animation, but that's about all I can recommend. Even the theme song is weak. Top Cat is a character who tries to get by in life by pulling various cons and scams. Yea, that's a good example to set for kids. And the stories themselves were not very well written and lack imagination. In THE MAHARAJAH OF POOKAJEE, Top Cat impersonates the Maharajah and it's clearly obvious that it's him but Officer Dibble doesn't even recognize it. Please, give me a break. Top Cat lasted for only one season, and it's easy to understand why.

Top Cat is basically an animated rip-off of Sgt. Bilko. I'm not a Bilko fan, either. Terrible show. Top Cat also borrows a little from The Bowery Boys, but The Bowery Boys characters have a little more integrity. Their virtues were more honest and they usually ended up in some sort of misunderstanding as opposed to just pulling one scam after the other.
