Double Dip Alert
Just before Richard speaks with Chef Tom Colicchio, he uses a spoon to take a taste of a brown mixture. The camera cuts to Tom, then back to Richard, and the metal spoon he was using can clearly be seen back in the bowl.
Richard: (after the tasting) I feel really good about today. I want to win this competition, but just the whole experience with seeing these kids, seeing Antonia cry (being reminded of her daughter), I want to go home, I want to make some babies. Some little Blaises.
Stephanie: (wandering around Whole Foods, no idea what to do) Seriously, HELP!
In the edit of the episode, Art Smith is shown to be quite critical of Stephanie's dish. However, in an interview for the Bravo website on his Guest Judging experience, he says that he thought the dish tasted good, if unusual. He says, "She put combinations together like a child would but it had great flavor."
Mark has since said that he was indeed joking about Tom not liking him. He does note that Tom has never contacted him to have a beer with him, however. Tom continues to maintain that there was never any personal feeling factored into any competitor's elimination, including Mark's.
