Top Chef: The Brothers' Boom
The season finale brought us predictably solid cooking, but not all that much excitement.

Top Chef: Padma Would Like to See You In Bed
Last night's episode saw a funny and slightly suggestive QuickFire challenge and the elimination of an inexplicably-successful contestant.

Top Chef: Natalie Portman Won't Eat Your Meat
On last night's Top Chef a famous actress had some strict demands and a longtime annoyance was sent packing.
A pork-based challenge didn't do much to help us trim the fat.

Top Chef: A Bad Chef? Moi??

Pigs! They're all winey pigs. All the foodstuffs in the Top Chef challenge last night, that is. It was the highly esteemed Las Vegas Pigs 'n Pinot festival and the remaining sweaty, miserable chefs had to make a pork dish that paired well with wine. While everyone knows that the best thing to do with that criteria is fry up some bacon, open a bottle of red, and then just dip the bacon in it like it's maple syrup, that would have been a bit too obvious. So they had to think outside the box. Or, outside the pen. Pig jokes! Keep 'em comin'!

The themes this week were supposedly indulgence and magic, though the episode was really about backstabbing.

Top Chef is Full of Devils

As we wander into the dangerous middle of this Top Chef season, huddling closer and closer together because everything around us is getting dark and scary, we can expect more meanness. We can expect the dead weight to begin to fall off in large chunks. Which is exactly what happened last night. Say it with me, just once. Send it softly into the air. Zattarain's.

A favorite contestant was forced out of the kitchen and a perpetual top-dog won yet again.

Top Chef: Just Can't Stand the Heat

Well, it's official. Top Chef and I are in a fight. We'll get over it, it's not a deal-breaking fight. But right now I am sour and surly and slightly sad. What was the cause of all this pointy domestic strife? Well, the spoily answer is:

Top Chef's eleventh season travels to the "Birthplace of Jazz" where chefs will compete in challenges that take advantage of the local culture and produce, and the rich culinary landscape Louisiana.

Top Chef: New Orleans begins with 19 chefs in contention for the title. This season, instead of a qualifying round, two contestants of the 19 are winners from the pre-season Padma's Picks web show, which had 10 local chefs compete in head-to-head challenges. Each round will have challenges exploring Louisiana and its different influences – both musical and cultural cuisine. Produce, proteins and industries unique the region will be featured; and guest judges who range from celebrities, musical giants and elite chefs will evaluate the chefs' dishes.

Padma Lakshmi continues as host, along with returning head judge Tom Colicchio, and judges Gail Simmons, Emeril Lagasse, and Hugh Acheson. The Top Chef title includes a feature in Food & Wine magazine, the opportunity for the winner to showcase his or her skills at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, Colorado, and $125,000 to help turn the winner's culinary dreams into reality. Top Chef is produced by Magical Elves Productions, whose Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz serve as executive producers.
