See, every time I say there's no information, Bravo proves me wrong. They just today announced the start date for Top Chef Chicago as March 19, 2008. They'll be keeping their 10 pm Wednesday time slot, and there'll be a week break between the end of Project Runway and our show. (Yay )

On the last episode of Project Runway, they ran a graphic saying that Top Chef Chicago will begin on the 12th of March, so maybe they've decided to start a week earlier? I haven't gone to the Bravo website to try to confirm yet, though. Whichever it is, I can hardly wait!

Gabfan is correct (as usual ), either I missed an alert in my box or I didn't get it. Top Chef 4's premiere has been moved forward a week to March 12. So far no episode titles have been released, and Bravo's schedule is problematic for me, so if anyone can find a title (with an accurate source) please submit it the episode.

I am looking forward to Top Chef's return. At the same time, I am hoping that the challenges they've cooked up for this season really test the cooking and leadership skills of the contestants. I hope the writers - I don't even know if that's the right term for a show like this - can learn from their mistakes of previous seasons and keep the challenges interesting and entertaining, but also meaningful to the competition. While I know we'll have to grind our way through a "Restaurant Opening Challenge," let's not have two weeks worth of that this season, please. Since the Miami season included quite a few "Partying" challenges, can we assume that we'll see a "Best Deep-Dish Pizza" challenge? And, hey, there's got to be a steak challenge, right?

I'm also interested to see who will join as guest judges. Chicago has some wonderful restaurants, and some great ethnic specialists. Perhaps Rick Tramonto and Gale Gand from "Tru" or Grant Achatz from "Alinea".

I read that within the first episode of the new season that is already a "fight" between some of the chefs. I hope this won't be a repeat of season 2.
