I will be able to do both challenges, which I am eager to find out what they are...

Thank you tv20, I appreciate the help.

Okay ladies and gentlemen, it's time for another set of challenges.

QUICKFIRE CHALLENGE: As promised this is a cooking challenge, it is also worth 2 pts to the winner. Your challenge is all about soup. In a cup or in a bowl, everyone loves a little soup now and then. Please wow me with a creative soup creation. Give me the basic ingredients and how you will be presenting it. You have until Thursday NOON EST to post your offering.

NON-ELIMINATION CHALLENGE: This challenge is worth the ususal 3 pts for the winner and 2 pts for the runner-up. Desert is the name of the game for this challenge. Cake, pudding, cookies, you name it. Do any type of desert you'd like, but make it fabulous! My friend Susan, a chocolate maker, will be assisting me with this decision, so wow her! You have until Saturday NOON EST to post your desert.

    Good luck everyone!

well, my soup is creamy French-merican soup. It is traditional French Onion oup, but with the addition of heavy cream and a home-made cracker on the side. It is baked in a ramekin with white American cheese on top. Bon Appetit!

For the Quickfire Challenge I'm going to prepare a soup that I quite enjoy, a Hungarian Mushroom Soup. Melt butter in a large pot and saut√© chopped onions and celery, then add sliced fresh mushrooms and cook them down. Then add dill, paprika, chicken broth, and a dash of soy sauce. In a separate bowl mix milk and flour, then add to the pot and simmer. Then add salt, pepper, lemon juice, parsley, and sour cream. Mix thoroughly and heat, but don't allow it to boil, and then serve. √Člvezet!

I apologize for my tardiness with my dessert, but I have presented a creme-brulee trifle. It is layers of cream, berries and chocolate separated by creme brulee topping and topped with a mint whipped cream, garnished with a mint leaf, that's one sweet dessert!

I too am sorry for being late. My dish is a flaky crepe, with home-made fench vanilla gelato and strawberries, with a buttercream sabayon on the side for dipping. Enjoy!

hello, chef. In memory of my good friend, I have made his favorite dessert: cupcakes. I have presented his three favorite types of cupcakes in a trio.

The first is a vanilla cupcake which has been hollowed out and filled with strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. The icing is vanilla icing with strawberry extract added.

The second is a chocolate cupcake with a creamy caramel icing and filling.

The final is a funfetti cupcake with a tri-colored vanilla icing with a candle (obviously for birthdays)

    Bon Appetit.

I too, am tardy, but I hope my dessert makes up for it. I have made Chocolate Marshmallow Walnut Bars. The bottom layer is a blondie with chopped walnuts that is baked to a nice brown color. Then allow it to cool, and mix melted chocolate chips with marshmallow cream and more walnuts, then spread it over the top of the blondie and allow it to set. This is a family favorite, so I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

This week, I don't mind everyone being late, as I am late as well. I had a bit of a computer problem so I was not able to get on to look at anything until now. I will consult with our guest judge, Susan, tomorrow at work and announce the winner then, as it is too late to call her now.

**She is only just getting over her last round of chemo, hence the reason why I'd rather not call her this time of night**

    JUDGE'S TABLE #5

This week you were asked to make a desert. Any desert you wanted, as long as it was creative. We got 4 very nice offerings, and with the help of our guest judge, Susan, a decision has been made. Quoting our guest judge:

TV20: You made one very sweet desert. The mint whipped cream put it over the top. Very nice!

CSI: That fact that you added the sabay on the side was a very nice touch. Sounds very yummy!

Copa: Not one but three! You went above and beyond here. My two grandsons would just gobble these up!

Gab: It's like two deserts in one. Aside from the addition of walnuts, everything sounds excellent!

And the winner is.... Copa! You receieve 3 pts for your winning cupcakes. The runner-up is TV20, receiving 2 points.

Susan asked me to add that she also loved the other two dishes and now will be monitering the game to see what else you guys come up with.

    POINT TOTALS SO FAR:
    Gabfan - 13
    Copa - 8
    TV20 - 5
    CSI - 5
    Kellie05 - 0

Your next challenges will be posted tomorrow.

Okay everyone, it's time for new challenges!

QUICKFIRE CHALLENGE: For your quickfire this week I'd like you to prepare an appetizer featuring seafood. Anything at all, as long as you use seafood in the recipe. Please post your offering by Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 8:00 PM EST. The winner of this challenge will receive 1 pt.

NON-ELIMINATION CHALLENGE: For your non-elimination challenge I'm going to ask you to do something that would probably drive Tom Colicchio nuts. Make me a salad. Although salads don't really envolve cooking, everyone loves them and they are found on the menu of almost every restaurant. So make me a salad, but dazzle me with your offering. Don't flop some lettuce on a plate and call it a day, really find a way to wow me. And don't forget the dressing! Please post your salad by Sunday, August 12, 2007 at NOON EST.

    Good luck to you all!

Alright, for the quickfire i have presented a stuffed shrimp casino. It is a moderation on clams casino, only i have used shrimp. It is stuffed with a mixed veggie medley of broccoli, mushrooms, roma tomatoes and peppers. Also it has some parmesean cheese and some proscuitto (sp?) instead of the traditional bacon. Enjoy!

For my Quickfire presentation I have made Bleu Crab Cakes. I made the Cakes themselves with Blue Crab meat, mayonnaise, diced celery, onions, crumbled Ritz crackers, a little Cajun seasoning for zip, formed it into patties, and then coat the patties with more finely ground cracker crumbs. Then I fried it in a saute pan with butter until it's nicely golden brown. It's served with a side of dipping sauce made from bleu cheese dressing with a dash of wasabi for a little more kick. I hope you enjoy it!

My salad is a Greek tomato salad. instead of lettuce, I have put sliced tomatoes on the plate, garnished with a balsamic vinegar dressing. My favorite part of this salad is that it comes with a topping bar. You can choose anything you want on it. For my presentation today, it has kalamata olives, feta cheese and artichokes marinated in extra virgin olive oil. Yum!

Quickfire-My quickfire dish is a classic paella. In this paella, I have jumbo lump crab meat, shrimp, scallops, and everyone's favorite...LOBSTER! Also in the paella is rice with a saffron cream sauce and on the side, I have made some black truffle garlic bread! Bon Appetit.

Non Elimination-I have decided to make a delicious fruit salad. It has pineapple, mango, passionfruit, strawberries, cherries, and melons (canteloupe, honeydew and watermelon). It also has some candied hazelnuts, baked apples and a white chocolate dressing.
