  • Trivia

    • Sam, Cliff, Mia, Ilan, and Frank all won immunity at the QuickFire Challenge. This is the first time there were multiple winners for the QuickFire Challenge. (See Production Notes for Tom Colicchio's comments on this.)

    • There is bonus footage at Bravo's website (Episode 6 Bonus - Chocolate Attack) showing Betty, Elia, and Carlos taking the chocolate food fight to the other Chefs relaxing in the loft.

    • During the first run of this episode Bravo ran a fan poll to see who was the most annoying. The choices were Elia, for whining, Sam, for instigating a fight, Marcel, for arrogance, and Betty, for her obnoxious cheerfulness. The top vote getter was Marcel at 51%.

      Betty - Chai Pumpkin Creme Brulee, Chocolate Hazelnut Creme Brulee & a Shot of Coffee.

      Sixth Course
      Michael - Cheese Plate: Applewood Cheddar, Gouda, Port-Salut, Parmesan & Brie.

    • Betty - Lemon hummus with beets, artichokes, green apples & sage vinaigrette.

    • Mia - 15 minute salad with garbanzo beans, green beans, artichoke hearts & mint.

  • Notes

    • Chef Tom said later in his blog that the producers had requested the judges to select a certain number of winners, though the judges had total control over which chefs were chosen. He gave this as an example of the kind of input the producers have, explaining that contrary to popular belief, the producers never tell them whom they should keep or send home.

    • Anthony Bourdain is a professional chef and best-selling author of cookbooks as well as being the star of the Travel Channel show Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, which takes him to well known restaurants as well as those off the beaten path.

    • Chef Lee Anne Wong from season one joins the production team with the Thanksgiving episode as Supervising Culinary Producer. Her role is to help the contestants understand the rules for each challenge and help develop the parameters of future challenges. Like Tom, she is not there to be a friend or a mentor, and she is not going to be a judge, but she has gotten to know the remaining chefs quite well and helps them with her insight as appropriate.
