This is what makes the show very unique as it
Brings so much twists and turns in the show.
We see them do a team quick fire challenge and that Lisa provides her team of Dale, Nikki, & Spike a head start. But then they falter in the end. While the winning team of Andrew, Antonia, Stephanie, & Richard win and chose the bride's team. As it is now catering to a wedding. Meaning they will be up all night long without no sleep at all. Andrew is at his craziest and wildest in the show. In the end, Stephanie brought it home with the cake. Despite Richard winning, he insisted on her taking the prize. But both share she insists. Nikki, who has the most Italian cooking experience, let the judges down. And in the end, it cost her!moreless

i liked this ep b/c i have been watching every ep since the second season of the show..and they always had a restaurnt war..and each time there is a minor twist to it but this time they went all out..i love it..they put a real big twist on it this time making them cater a wedding..i think this was an awesome idea..spoiler..they split the remaining contestants into two groups..one catering items to the groom and the other catering items to the wife..there were some similar items such as the cake and everything else had its own twist..i agree that the grooms side did better and the judges did choose the right person to send homemoreless

From the quick fire to the challenge we got old school Top Chef again but with a twist...

The commented on "I have a culinary boner right now." LMAO, from the quick fire and it was the best and great to see that they brought back the race again. I think that comment was great and priceless for sure!!!!! I bet it makes it into the reunion show like "I'm not your B*tch, B*tch" with Dave from Season 1.

Wedding wars...groom vs bride and the bride's team wins. And the bride is not scared to show it off to the groom. Two cakes this year as well, lots of hard work and great drama.
    The losers:
As for Dale vs Nikki, yah Nikki was a let down and should have stepped up. But personally I think that they both should have gone home in a Top Chef first. I don't have enough room to express my increasing dislike and disgust for Dale after this event. But I feel he share big time in the teams failure because he just thought he could do it all and did it half ass. But just my view is all.moreless

  • From the restaurant to the wedding.........

In this one, the eight people separate into teams of four for the quickfire which requires them to slice oranges, cut up monkfish, cut artichokes, and make mayo the fastest. One team is made up of Richard, Antonia, Stephanie, and Andrew while the other team is Nikki, Spike, Dale, and Lisa. Lisa puts her team ahead by a lot but Spike & Nikki slows them down and causes them to lose. Immunity is no longer the prize but the winning gets some type of advantage in the elimination challenge. For elimination, instead of doing Restaurant Wars.....we now have Wedding Wars. And I must admit.....the intensity of the entire thing dies down a little there but the female in me still wants to know what the bride is wearing. The winning team gets to pick whether they want to cook for the bride or groom's side. Richard's team chooses the brides side. Dale team is left the groom side. The bride wants a traditional southern menu included with a wedding cake while the groom wants a italian menu also with a wedding cake. Both wedding cake makers.........Stephanie and Lisa hit the target. A couple of overlapping issues on Dale's team. No one really likes him. His temper causes him to be scatterbrain throughout the entire challenge and while he does a lot....he doesn't execute well while other members do well but don't do enough. Biggest irritation of mine is Nikki's attitude. She obviously should've taken control in this situation and basically just refuse to. She went home. I'm happy. end of the show. Most definitely worth watching.moreless

    • Nikki complains that her mayonnaise "isn't breaking", and she needs to take a breather to regroup. But "breaking" is the last thing you want to have happen- that means that the egg yolks and the oil are no longer emulsified, and have separated! Edit
    • Immunity is no longer the prize for the QuickFire Challenges from this point on this season. The rewards will be advantages tailored to the specific Elimination Challenges. Edit
    • First-Run Fan Poll: Which chef annoys you most? A. Dale 46% B. Lisa 39% C. Spike 15% (all percentages are as of the end of the episode.) Edit
  • Notes

    ADD NOTES
    • When Lee Anne suggested turning artichokes for the mise en place relay, Chef Colicchio was skeptical, thinking it was too hard and would take too long. She and Tom turned a few artichokes together in the production offices, and Tom was convinced it would work. Edit
    • Also Featured: > J.P. Marchetti – Groom & Owner, Galleria Marchetti > Corey Smith – Bride & Dir. of Business Development, Galleria Marchetti > Marcia Smith – Bride's Mother > Mary Jane Marchetti – Groom's Mother The venue used for the elimination challenge is owned by the groom. The restaurant portion of the complex served only lunch, and that for a limited time (11:30 am-2:30 pm) at the date of broadcast. The bride and groom shifted their wedding forward by six months and moved its location from Kansas to Chicago in order to be on Top Chef – they're fans of the show. Edit

    • Andrew: I have a culinary boner right now knowing that I have to work all night, because I am an animal. Edit
    • Spike: (after Dale starts pointing fingers in front of the Judges) I'm regretting stooping down to his level. Edit
    • Antonia: I'm working the front with Richard, Stephanie's going to run back and forth, and Andrew's staying in the kitchen. Andrew's not allowed to talk to the guests. (shaking her head and laughing) Seriously. Edit
