Top Cops

Show Summary

Top Cops was an anthology series from Larry Jacobson and Sonny Grosso, with music provided by Domenic Troianofor CBS Broadcast International. Filmed on location in Canada, the series was one of the first to create a landmark for American shows. It proved that the cast and crew of a show could be almost 100% Canadian yet still stand up to the same standards that the American-produced shows had.
From 1990 to 1993, Top Cops aired as one hour episodes, including anywhere from one to three vignettes per episode. Each vignette detailed a police officer or case that caught the public interest. In some cases, the show would highlight individuals who had greatly contributed to law enforcement such as Bette Clark, a police artist who was instrumental in the creation of the current computer programs used in law enforcement to help identify unknown individuals.
* editor's note: Because the information available is from various sources (some that provide air dates but no episode summaries, and some with summaries but no air date) the editor has chosen to publish the known episodes with information about the episode and it's content, rather than publish empty episodes with proper air dates. If one day these can be correlated, then that will be done. Thank you.moreless

  • A great reenactment show.

This show just like rescue 911 is a documentary show, but this one is a semi cop show because of the dramatized true stories. This show is a truly entertaining, the show follows the anthology format of the twilight zone. But this show doesn't have stories that suck, the writers made sure that each story that they show is entertaining and worth watching. The stories are true stories, but retold in a dramatic representation to give it a cop show like appearance. This show never bores, it's really exciting to watch, there's something to see every week. I just can't get enough of it.moreless
