The History channel has ordered another season of Top Gear USA. They've had a full season to test the waters, I expect a better season 2.

I had fun watching the first season, had some good laughs.
It'll never be Top Gear UK, but I'm looking forward to it.

I wish I could find information of when the next season may air on the history.com site. I dont expect Top Gear US to ever be near as good as Top Gear UK but season 1 was better than I expected. Now if those three guys were actually melding and working together it could improve quite a bit.
On a related side note, it would be nice if BBC-America would air top Gear UK unedited since they did start broadcasting the entire episodes.

It's the same in the UK, the reruns of the full 60 min episodes are edited down to 45 mins or thereabouts. I pretty much feel the same way though, it's definitely watchable for petrol heads.

I've been catching up on the Top Gear UK show on BBC America and as an American, I prefer that one over this US version. THat's not to say I outright hate the US version, but perhaps they need a few more seasons to build a bond the way the guys on the UK have that makes them a success.

THere's stuff the US can do because the US is so big, but in the end the UK team has traveled across the world and the US version just copies the challenges.

If/when it comes down to UK vs US, that I'll look forward to. I would like to see the US guys fly over Jeremy and the guys in F15s though. That would be an awesome entrance. What would also be funny is if the UK guys bring in Big STig to be the US's stig for a challenge. :crosses fingers of this happening in series 18 of the UK show:

I think that the reason that Top Gear UK seemed better than Top Gear US is that UK had been around longer and so there are more good episodes. Not only that, but they knew each other for a much longer time than the US group. Just give them time and US will be awesome!

The UK version is better for a number of reasons. Clarkson, Hamster and Captain Slow had known each other for years before the show, they were already very good mates. Another reason is that the US version is a carbon copy and a copy is never as good, all the antics you see have been done before. Plus Top gear UK which started in 2002 was a reformat of a previous Top Gear that started in 1978, so there's a lot of history there. I like the US version though, it's certainly entertaining and I hope we see many more seasons.
