Episode Summary

EDIT

Jeremy, James and Richard are in Uganda to discover the definitive source of the River Nile. In the past many explorers have claimed to have done just that, but were unlikely to have done it in three estate cars bought for no more than £1,500.

  • Best Ever.

Having watched every single episode and special of Top Gear, to date, I can honestly say, without any reservation or hesitation, that this was the beginning of the BEST special of Top Gear, ever. It was dramatic, suspenseful, entertaining, funny, and, something that Top Gear has never genuinely felt REAL.

My only fault is that it didn't air as a can't wait for the second half of this special.

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Richard Hammond: [Referring to James's Volvo 850 R] It doesn't look at home, does it?
Jeremy Clarkson: [Referring to his BMW 528i] That looks at home.
James May: [Referring to Jeremy's BMW 528i] Yeah that looks at home on the M4, in the outside lane, too close to the car in front being driven by an embittered toner distribution manager.

    • Jeremy Clarkson: We broke out the map. And discovered that two places are currently marked as the source of the Nile. One in Burundi discovered by Burkhart Waldecker and one in Rwanda discovered by Joanna Lumley.
