Personally I Hate Fifth Gear and I find it boring unlike Top gear the greatest car show in the world.

I definitely agree. Top gear is much more entertaining to watch than fifth gear! and you still get relevant information like on fifth gear just not the boredom...

My review of Fifth Gear says it all. It's copying Top Gear very badly and the hosts are all terrible (except Tom Ford). Also, no car companies send them new cars anymore so they end up testing old ones

Really? I didn't know that. Then again, I just can not bring myself to watch Fifth Gear - it's just too awful. That Tiff bloke puts me right off too; he's such a smug *******. People always describe him as a racing driver, yet if you look at his page on Wikipedia - I know it's an awful site - it's hardly a roll of honour.

Not so much a racing driver, as a bloke who drove a few fast cars. Git.

I prefer Top Gear (for the obvious reasons), but I still watch them both... Top Gear because it is one of the greatest shows ever to grace the widescreen TV (regardless of the cars) and Fifth Gear because I like cars. Just a note - I did thoroughly enjoy their attempt at more 'vibrant' presenters with that teet with blonde hair who didn't have a clue about cars... or presenting for that matter who lasted one entire season before being droppped back to the shopping channels (I assume).

The cars are the only thing the two shows have in common.
S**t Gear cannot compare to the genius of Jeremy and co.
Its just a clone that can never match the original. A bit like any of those sub Grand Theft Auto clones floating around...

I just watched a repeat episode of Top Gear that I have seen twice before already and it truly is a class act. So so good.

Someone should start a Top Gear vs Vroom Vroom thread. Now that would be a close one.

Yeah, you can re-watch Top Gear so many times but you can not watch Fifth Gear more than once. They basically have their own channel now too, UKTVG2 shows Top Gear 24/7!!

Oh and I just got my first car too, MINI!!!

Yeah, but G2 cuts a good 15 minutes out, doesn't show episodes in the right order, misses a few out and only shows a few different ones a day.

They hack the episodes to pieces on UKTV. Have you seen the version of the episode with the convertible people carrier? They cut it like it was an advert! Absolutely unwatchable.

They don't even do it properly. You still get references to the missing bits in the programme description, clips in the end credits and they're sometimes mentioned on the "coming up" bit at the start. The best one was the one with the Oxford challenge, which went something like this:

Richard: We'll come back to this later, if you're 8 I'll give you permission to stay up and watch it.
    (Top Gear logo plays)
    James: Now, earlier on...

They're making room for the 19 minutes of adverts. Top Gear on BBC2 lasts 1 hour with no ads so they are just making room.

It is really bad though so if you want to watch episodes again, you have to wait and hope they show it on BBC3 or record them yourself (which is what i do)

Fifth Gear and a Veyron?! Whats going on? How did they land that... and the opportunity to "throw" it round a track? Jeremy will be pissed.

I read something the other day which made reference to a Typhoon fighter jet, a Bugatti Veyron and Richard Hammond. The only problem is, I can't remember where I read it. Apparently, he was racing the fighter jet in the Bugatti! This was earlier this week - I'll try and find it.

I'd have thought Hammond would take it easy on driving the fastest cars in the world. Anyway, I started another thread with the Bugatti vs. Typhoon race because it isn't really a Top Gear vs. Fifth Gear thing

You're absolutely right. Top Gear raced the Bugatti Veyron against a Fighter Jet. AlsoHammond had another crash... but this time hes ok he crashed during a Le Mans 24 endurance race. Back to terms with this thread, Fifth Gear suck compared to Top Gear.
