The distance between Resolute in northern Canada and the magnetic North Pole at Ellef Ringnes Island is 320 nautical miles [450 miles]. It's a journey across sea ice and unforgiving mountainous terrain, where temperatures can drop to minus 65ºC - a temperature at which exposed skin can freeze in less than 30 seconds. Only fools would attempt such a journey. So Jeremy and James are attempting to do it in the now legendary Toyota Hilux and Richard hopes to make it on a sled pulled by ten Canadian Inuit dogs.

The perfect British hen night: A fat girl with a tattoo; her drunken friend with those little devil ears, molesting a male stripper, 'L' plates, copious vomiting and of course a stretch limo. But why hire one when you can make your own? Step forward the Top Gear boys who do just that. Once built, they use their stretch limos to ferry the 'stars' to the Brit Awards. On the track, two Ford Mustangs: one tuned by Shelby and the other by Roush. Have the Americans finally built a car that deserves more than pointing and giggling from smug Europeans? Billie Piper shows off her driving skills and her brand new accent as the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.moreless

In response to recent criticism regarding speed, Top Gear presents to you - and I hope in particular, the Scottish Green Party, the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. That's that criticism dealt with then. They get through a fair amount of petrol on Top Gear, so in an attempt to find an alternative source of fuel, The Captain, Brokeback and Murderer go green - slightly, by attempting to 'grow' their own fuel. The sight of tractors on the Top Gear track will undoubtedly delight and confuse in equal measure. The chance of a small fire is also quite likely. Also this week, Jeremy makes a public information film: this involves crashing a train into a people carrier - a French people carrier. It might not have the same effect as the public information films from the 1970s, but at least the clothing will be authentic. To the absolute delight of Jeremy, Kristin Scott Thomas is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.moreless

Another day, another Porsche, but will Jeremy be able to tell the difference between this new 911 Turbo and the old one? He also drives the Brabus S Biturbo Mercedes SL, which has a staggering 730bhp. James and Richard try to turn a Reliant Robin into a space shuttle. One small step for a small man etc...

Simon Pegg is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.

In this 'American special', Jeremy, James and Richard are on a fly-drive holiday with a difference. Instead of hiring a car, each has to buy a car for no more than $1000. Starting in Miami, they travel through Mississippi and Alabama - where they manage to upset the locals - and end their journey in New Orleans. As usual, there will be some Top Gear challenges along the way; a dead cow, prostitute-obsessed truckers and a meeting with Fat Stig - Stig's American cousin.moreless

The lads try to play golf - the game which pervades exclusivity and stupid trousers - whilst testing three coupés in the £20,000 - £ 25,000 price range: the Audi TT, the Alfa Romeo Brera and the Mazda RX-8.

James, in an attempt to bury his Captain Slow persona, attempts to take the Bugatti Veryron up to its maximum speed of 253 mph (407km/h) at Ehra-Lessien - Volkswagen's private test track.

Hugh Grant is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.

Four months after Richard's 'upside down' thing, Top Gear returns. To get things going, the Jaguar XKR is compared to the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. After spending so many years zooming along the roads of Britain, the lads turn their hands to mending them by trying to do a week's worth of roadworks in 24 hours. Also, the 288mph jet car crash which left Richard fighting for his life in September 2006, a crash from which he has made a complete recovery - hurrah! Jamie Oliver is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.moreless
