  • Above average, to me is a big thing to say, because the average that has been set by Top Gear is very high in my opinion.

I love the urban challenges set by Top Gear, probably more so than the "public transport vs supercar" challenges. In this particular episode, James May, nicknamed Captain Slow by the other presenters had to race 2 guys on BMX bikes through Budapest. Ill leave what happened in the end out of the review so as to not spoil it.

These challenges are exciting and almost one sided as you think you definately know what the outcome is going to be, but youre stunned by the talent of some people. Obviously the road has a huge part to play, not to mention James infamous sense of direction ( or lack of it ).

Definately an episode to watch for those who havent seen it, and for those who have, will agree that its worth watching the second time on reruns.moreless
  • An exceptional episode that no one should miss as they compete in the Brit 24hr race. James looks at the Fiat 500 and we see the lap record go in this episode to an unlikely car.moreless

I will tell you something. Once I had watched this episode, I felt like I had been with Jeremy, James, Richard and the Stig the whole time. We have seen epic races before but the Top Gear crew competeing in the Brit 24hour was just brilliance.

I have said many times that the reason Top Gear succeeds so much is that they draw the viewer in to a place where the viewer is vulnerable and feels all the excitment and emotion that goes on through out the show and this episode is a prime example of this working to perfection. I felt like I was part of there crew and I had helped in all aspects of the car and that when they finished the race, I felt huge elation that we had all been apart of something magnificant. With word circulating that they will attempt another 24hr race next series, I am like a kid waiting for santa to come on christmas day.

Else where on the episode, James looked at Fiats new car that is based on an old car if that makes sense. It's the Fiat 500 and I just think that it is the funkyest car to come along in a while. James puts the 500 against two BMX riders with not so suprising resaults.

We also have Jeremy driving the new Ascari A10 and even though I don't think that it's a looker, the noise it makes is immense and the speed is phenominal. Watch it and check the time it does around the track. Amazing.

Keith Allan is the star in a reasonable priced segment and was a very funny guest.

Overall, this was an example of what Top Gear is all about and perfection is the resault. 10/10moreless
  • tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooop

it was the best top gear show ever because the stig was involed in the 24 hour race and the new fastest car came on the accari a10 my favorite car. the stig was driving so quckly and made them in the lead and hamster crashed again.may dint get lost for once.the bm beated porchas ferrairs and many more super car and sports cars but the the best thing what happend was when the stig made them high up on the grid but unforchenly may broke the bm and the had the start from the pit lane and droped down a bitmoreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (1)

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Jeremy Clarkson: So to summarise; the car was broken, we were all rubbish, James's zip was stuck and we'd accidentally written 'arse biscuits' on the driver's door.

    • Jeremy Clarkson: [Referring to the Daihatsu Materia] And what's more, in a straight line at 85mph, it'll easily over-take the Ascari when it's doing seventy.

    • Jeremy Clarkson: Some say that he once lost a canoe on a beach in the north east. And that he once did some time in a prison in Canterbury because his teddy is called the Baby Jesus. All we know is he's called the Stig.

  • NOTES (3)

    • Jeremy Clarkson: ...he once did some time in a prison in Canterbury because his teddy is called the Baby Jesus.

This is in reference to Gillian Gibbons; a British teacher who was arrested and jailed in Sudan for permitting her students to name a teddy bear Mohammed.

    • Jeremy Clarkson: Some say that he once lost a canoe on a beach in the north east...

This is in reference to British canoeist John Darwin who was supposedly lost at sea in his canoe in 2002, only to reappear in 2007, with his wife, in Panama.
