Episode Summary

Which is the better car? The Aston Martin V8 Vantage, the Porsche 911 Carrera S or the new BMW M6? To find out, the boys take all three cars to the Isle of Man and test them on the island's country roads, where there is no speed limit [unlike in the built up areas of the island].

Richard drives the Ascari KZ1 - a British-made supercar - to see if it is worthy of entry to the exclusive 'super car club'. Actor Trevor Eve is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.

Who was the Episode MVP ?

  • Jeremy Clarkson Lives!

I was so worried that because of back problems he might not be able to drive like a maniac any more. But he is back and within the fist 2 minutes of the show, you know he is really back!

Looks like an exciting year with lots of fun races, silly contests and amazing cars. If only I had personally, wit, reasonable looks, lived in the UK, could drive like they do and had Jeremy Clarkson as a personal friend. I would so like to be a co-host for that show!

    Ah to dream...

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Richard Hammond: Some say that his skin has the texture of a dolphin's. And where ever you are in the world, if you tune your radios to 88.4, you can actually hear his thoughts. All we know is he's called the Stig.

    • Jeremy Clarkson: Hello and I'm delighted to say this is not a Best of Top Gear, cobbled together to fill a gap between the snooker and the final of Britain's Biggest Paving Slab. We're back!

    • Richard Hammond: Inside every supercar buyer, no matter how many petrochemical companies they own, there is a ten-year-old kid.

    • Richard Hammond:I have not had my teeth whitened.
Jeremy Clarkson: What, they've just gone white?
Richard Hammond: In the same way yours have gone green.

    • Richard Hammond: [referring to the new Mini Estate] What do you reckon they've done? It's a German car - French engine of course, but they've decided to make it British; they wanted to give it something quintessentially British. So what do you think they've given it? Something that just says...
      Jeremy Clarkson: A blow-up Queen.
      Richard Hammond: ...No.
      Jeremy Clarkson: A beefeater.
      Richard Hammond: No.
