Full Episode Summary

The Touring Superleggera Disco Volante. No, it's not an Italian dance troupe - it's a car. It's based on the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione and Jeremy has packed his disco trousers and headed to Italy to drive it.

Richard is in Dubai to play in the sand with the six-wheel-drive Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6 - one of only two in existence. Meanwhile, James also finds himself in 'foreign' territory; he's on the Top Gear track, driving three Caterhams: the Seven 160, the supercharged Seven 620R and the Aero Seven concept.

Jack Whitehall is the Star Made Famous by his Dad who is an Agent in a Reasonably Priced Car.

Clarkson pronounce it "dis-covalantay" which sounds odd. I've always thought it was "disco-volantay" as in the dance club. Anyway they had too make it look like the one from the 50s.

Was it just me or did anyone else feel unmoved by the Touring Superleggera Disco Volante? The wheel arches were ridiculous, the front looked like Jeremy had designed it and the back was just short of ugly.A 'coach-built' Alfa? I imagine it would fall apart faster than you can say it.

This week’s episode of TOP GEAR featured Richard Hammond testing the six-wheel, G Wagon in the dunes of the Trucial States and in Dubai. All very exciting, I’m sure. But if exotic locations are necessary why choose to promote one where slavery continues embodied in its economy?Even the illiberal Clarkson must have some sensitivity to the plight of so many Asian workers whose freedom of movement is wholly in the gift of their ‘sponsors’.
