    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • Brew Up: Mike Skinner goes through at least three cups of tea during the course of the concert. He gives the remains of one cup of tea to a Scottish girl in the audience who promptly drinks it as if she'd never tasted tea before.

    • QUOTES (5)

      • Leo The Lion: How many teas are you gonna be drinkin'?
Mike Skinner: Three teas, five songs, you know the deal.

      • Mike Skinner: Two great European narcotics; Alcohol and Christianity. I know which one I prefer.

      • Mike Skinner: (asking various girls in the audience) Have you got a boyfriend?... Have you got a boyfriend?... Is that your boyfriend?
Leo The Lion: Wait, wait, wait. (starts singing to a girl who just identified her boyfriend stood behind her) #Don't cha wish your boyfriend was hot like me? Don't cha wish your boyfriend was a freak like me? Don't cha.

      • Mike Skinner: (after chatting up a girl in the audience) Claire, can you get her phone number for me?

      • Mike Skinner: Top of the Pops does a fine cup of tea, I'll tell you that Leo The Lion.

    • NOTES (2)

      • How many?!: This concert which lasted only 25 minutes was looped constantly for the remainder of Sunday and the following 6 days before finally being removed to give way for snooker. That means it was repeated (for a round figure) in excess of 350 times. That's 350 times that poor girl's been chatted up, 350 times CD:UK has been shamelessly mentioned on a rival show and 1050 cups of teas (with no milk) Mike Skinner has drunk.

      • Something's Missing: A sixth performance; 'All Goes Out The Window' was also recorded at the same time but was only featured on the main programme on BBC 2. This song is later reunited with the rest of the set along with a seventh song; 'Pranging Out', for an extended special broadcast on BBC2 on June 2nd.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Song: Pussycat Dolls 'Don't Cha'

After routing out a female audience member who is accompanied by her boyfriend, Streets singer 'Leo the Lion' starts jokingly singing "Don't cha wish your boyfriend was hot like me?", changing 'girlfriend' to 'boyfriend' in an amusing parody of the infamous Pussycat Dolls song 'Don't Cha'.
