It wasn't half good either. Bring back the old format.

Wait a minute: There's still plenty of blood, explosions, great dialogue and acting, plus a good plot. What seems to be the problem??? It's STILL a good show. Gwen and Jack, as characters, are EXACTLY the same. The only difference is there's no nudity. Oh how AWFUL!! Lol...

I agree. Starz HAS remained faithful to the show. Keep in mind, Captain Jack himself has said that Torchwood agents do NOT live to a ripe old age. Iantos' death, while tragic, was not out of the ordinary.

Starz rescued the show from the oblivion that the BBC placed it in. They could have replaced the actors and simply gone off and done a completely different storyline.

Instead, they brought back the same actors and started in the original location (Cardiff). They even managed to avoid insulting our intelligence by having a reasonable, logical, reason for Torchwood to operate in the US.

And on another note, Starz is NOT known for avoiding nudity and sex. Have you seen Spartacus? Given that we've only seen 2 episodes there's plenty of time for Jack to have a little fun. Considering that Jack is 'omnisexual', I'm almost afraid of who/what the writers have in mind.

My main complaint about Torchwood: COE was that far too much of the story was wrapped around folks trying to kill the whole Torchwood team and the families. In the end Jack found a feeble way to send 456 on their way.

MD seems to have started the same way. As soon as Gwen and Rhys were out in the open, someone tries to kill them...why??

I don't like the "noone dies" foundation, why does everything have to be so extreme? Those helicopter killers were really poor assassins too and ofcourse everything has to be a conspiracy stacked against the good people.

I will probably watch a couple more episodes because it does have potential, but I am not amused.
