The final two contestants face off in a gladiator style battle with one receiving the prize of one million dollars.
In the center of the Chris-osseum, the tail wing of Chris's plane from "Total Drama World Tour" can be seen.
The formula Cameron writes on the ground while building his suit is the same formula Izzy wrote in Jamaica Me Sweat.
This is the first time that the two finalists are two boys instead of one boy and one girl.
This is the second season in which the winner of a season walks away with the prize money. The first was Duncan in Total Drama Action.
The armoured suit that Cameron wears is very similar to the one worn by Marvel superhero, Iron Man.
The castmates seen in the confessional for this episode were Cameron, Lightning, Zoey, Mike and Scott.
Ezekiel makes a cameo appearance for the third time in the season during this episode.
Cameron's audition: He talks about how he's been a bubble boy his whole life, but says that he is pretty strong. At that moment, a butterfly lands on his head and he falls over.
Lightning's audition: He is seen in a football field and he talks about how he is the best player on the whole team.
Jo: (in confessional) I've carried both these morons to the finale! Where's my million dollars?! What a rip off!
Zoey: (in confessional) Larry.
Mike: (in confessional) Mutant gophers.
Scott: (in confessional, he only light-up the red light bulb of what he said.)
Dawn: All the tea leaves say nothing about this. (the creepy tree beating up B)
This is the first "Total Drama" finale in which the winners are different in Latin America and the United States.
Cameron is the winner of Total Drama: Revenge of the Island in the Canadian and Latin America broadcasts.
Lightning is the winner of Total Drama: Revenge of the Island in the U.S. broadcast.
This is the second season finale in which the winner was not the same in the United States and Canada. The first was Total Drama World Tour, where Alejandro won in Canada, and Heather won in the United States.
Star Trek
The mechanical suit used by Scott appears to be based on a similar suit used by the injured Capt. Christopher Pike in the Star Trek: The Original Series episode "The Menagerie". Scott's facial expressions appear similar to those of Capt. Pike in "The Menagerie".
