  • All I can say is, they could have ended it last week.

What words spring to mind when you think of "Season finale?" For me, such words include "exciting", "climactic", and "watchable". You can imagine my disappointment when I found out that the all-important last episode of Total Drama Action would be... another "Aftermath". Now, I can only speak for myself, but I despise these "Aftermath" episodes. I mean, what's the point of spending an entire episode on the development of characters who are no longer part of the show? Not to mention that Geoff and Bridgette are insufferable; who in the writers' department thought it would be a good idea to have two of the contestants partake in torturing all the others? That's Chris's job. What happened to the camaraderie between the twenty-two teens, who, despite their differences and arguments, were always united by their mutual hatred of Chris and the Total Drama reality series? The episode itself is worth a few laughs, but quickly spoils that by lacking any cohesion whatsoever. I mentioned that they could have ended it last episode, and I have a feeling they were planning to, indeed, this seems like somewhat of a last-minute affair. If they'd really though about it, maybe they could have done something about the obvious plot holes, such as "How did Geoff and Bridgette resolve their issues after being on the verge of breaking up in the last episode?" or "How did Chris and Chef find their way back from Camp Wawanakwa?" It seems as though the writers cast those concerns to the wind, in favor of cheap laughs. Speaking of which, I can't believe they're still breathing life into the "Explosivo" gag.

The ending itself lacked that feeling of closure I was hoping for; Duncan wins, gets back together with Courtney, Beth's boyfriend is real... so what? All of it feels rushed, and not at all rewarding for staying on board all season. I am however, looking forward to hearing their explanation as to why Duncan will be in Total Drama Musical despite already having won his million dollars, but I'm not getting my hopes up. They'll probably sidestep that plot point just like they have to all the other major ones.

Total Drama Action aired in the same time slot as "The Office." If such a conflict ever occurs again, you can bet I'll be tuned in to NBC.moreless
  • Season Two Finale: Duncan Wins!

I was really took by surpise when they annouced the winner in this episode of Total Drama Action. I thought for sure that the campion was going to be Beth, but it turned out to be Duncan instead. I was not surpised at all when her too-good-to-be-true boyfriend that she was boasting about turned out to be the real McCoy. As a matter of fact, nobody was. There is still one thing that bothers me, however. Duncan is going to be one of the contestants in Season Three Why would he take another crack at the million dollars if he already won it?moreless
  • It's not fair! Why does Duncan win instead of Beth? I thought a bad-guy couldn't win. Nearing the end of the finale, Chris goes right into the voting. The voting booth is revealed to be a toilet house (due to low budget courtesy of Courtney's lawsuit).moreless

While Chris reveals the castmates' voting booth, the contestants (Season 2 Contestants) goes straight to voting. Only 8 voted. Due to some flaws (Bridgette and Geoff making out instead of voting, Lindsay sneezing on her voting paper and LeShawna and Trent got repulsed by Owen's fillings), Duncan ended up as Season 2 Winner. If Noah (Chris's Assistant), Bridgette, Geoff, Lindsay, LeShawna and Trent got the chance to vote, then Beth would've won since the six share a huge conflict towards Duncan. At least Duncan returns for a third season along with LeShawna, Bridgette, Lindsay, and Noah. Duncan gets eliminated first (If you count Ezekiel's elimination in the following part of this two-parter).moreless

  • TRIVIA (13)

  • QUOTES (8)

    • Chris: (stuck in traffic, to driver) You call this driving?! What are you doing?!
Chef: Well, Chris, when a lot of cars are stuck on the same road, it's called traffic.

    • Beth: Just give all the money to me!
      Duncan: Uhh, No.
Beth: It was worth a try.

    • Courtney: Stop! I got a plan. I devised a completely unbiased (winks at Duncan) way to pick a winner. A quiz show to determine who gets the million.
      Everyone else: Lame!

    • Eva: (about who should win the million) Make a decision! I'm getting bored! And you know what happens when I'm bored? (hits fist into palm)

    • Izzy: (after telling Duncan and Beth to have a dance off) Hit it, DJ!
DJ: What "it" am I hitting exactly?
Izzy: Not you! DJ Jazzy Chef!

    • Courtney: We're rich!
Duncan: Not so fast, sister. Who said I'd share anything with you?
      (Courtney kisses him)
Courtney: Every king needs a queen.
Duncan: King, huh? That doesn't sound so terrible.
      (Courtney kisses him again)

    • Beth: What's that?
Chef: Cookie gram. Sent by the girls of the Total Drama fan club for all the girls to share.
Beth: Really? That's so nice. (cut to a scene of her eating all of the cookies) It's really hard work being nice. I deserve these more than anybody! (shoves the camera out of her face)

    • Geoff: This is the last time we're going to see each other guys. Getting a bit choked up here.
Bridgette: We had an awesome time together. I'm going to miss you guys.
LeShawana: We'll miss you too girl. Now, pick a winner so we can all go home!

  • NOTES (2)

    • Stoked

When Chris said that he and Chef were going to Sunset Beach, this is a reference to the show Stoked and the beach where it takes place.

    • DJ Jazzy Chef

Chef's DJ's name is a reference to DJ Jazzy Jeff, a famous turntablist best known for working with Will Smith.

    • Hole in the Wall

The challenge Beth and Duncan undertake in this episode is a reference to the Fox reality show Hole in the Wall where contestants attempted to contort their bodies in an effort to fit through a wall approaching them with the winner(s) at the end getting a cash prize.

    • Survivor

The castmates voting on who should win and Chris tallying the votes is exactly like how they announce the winners on all the season finales of the hit reality show Survivor.
