They are the duo taking the music world by storm, spreading their message of "country music without prejudice" and electrifying each stage on which they perform. They are Big & Rich -- Big Kenny and John Rich -- and they are throwing a party where everyone is invited on CMT Total Access: Big & Rich. In the one hour episode, cameras capture Big & Rich ("Horse of a Different Color") from backstage to onstage, from down time to "on-for-the-cameras" time, from performance high to utter exhaustion, thrusting viewers into the rush of fame and revealing a brief, but energized and intimate, glimpse of life on the other side. CMT follows the rising stars as they shoot their first music video for "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)," tour with superstar Tim McGraw and perform at New York's famous club CBGB's, spreading their message, showing off their wild and wooly ways and winning legions of fans. When John Rich met Big Kenny in 1998, both had been through the record industry wringer. Rich had been in a band before launching a brief solo career and Big Kenny had a record deal and an album that went nowhere, so he launched a wild outfit called luvjOi. John and Big Kenny became friends as well as writing partners and began performing together, along with other musicians and songwriters, in casual Tuesday night Nashville sessions that became dubbed the Muzik Mafia. The two were eventually signed to Warner Bros., and their debut album, "Horse of a Different Color," was released in May of 2004.moreless
