    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (7)

      • Nitpick: When Sam says "case closed, let's go home." The funny thing is that the girls are so preoccupied with their fight, they forget about their plans about going home and they decide to investigate, even though they said that the case was closed.

      • "The Zanzibarian athletes still look normal after they get the brain worms, but when Clover gets them, she looks like a guy with women's hair." - However she was given three bugs while the others only got one.

      • After coming up out of the lake, Sam's hair is down. But when they are crawling on the ice, Sam's hair is back in a bun.

      • The coach says that everyone laughed at him when he wanted to win gold for skiing at the 68' Olympics. The 68' Olympics were for summer, not winter sports. -Perhaps that's why they made fun of him.

      • After the spies have been captured by the bad guys and the coach is telling the girls about those "brain worms" (I forget what they're called), watch the close-ups of the girls tied together carefully. At one point (maybe twice), Sam is wearing a yellow jumpsuit.

      • To clarify the Olympic year nitpick: from 1898-1992, the modern Olympic games held BOTH the Winter and Summer games in the same year, every four years, so the comment by the coach saying he could have won the Winter Games in 1968 was correct. In 1992, the rules were changed so that the Summer and Winter Games would alternate every two years, so they'd still be spaced four years apart, so the Summer Games have been held in 1992, 1996, 2000, and 2004, while the Winter Games were held in 1992, again in 1994 to reflect the changes, 1998, 2002, and 2006.

      • About the 68' goof. Until recently, the summer and winter Olympics were held the same year. They changed it so you would not have to wait 4 years for the Olympics.

    • QUOTES (5)

      • Jerry: (To the coach) Didn't your Mom never teach you that cheaters only cheat themselves?

      • (Clover tries to out run the coach)
        Clover: Bring it on, gramps!
Sam: Yeah! (Sam and Alex get tripped by the coach's helpers) Okay, that's embarrassing.

      • (The sick bobsledder sneezes and a mechanical bug comes out)
Clover: Mental note, send Olympic team hankies.

      • (Alex saves Sam from the ice cold water under the ice and Alex stands up on the ice)
Sam: Thanks, Alex. You're really are a good athlete. But, don't! You'll crack the ice.
Alex: Are you saying I'm fat?

      • (Clover, Alex, and Sam are discussing what they found and Clover shows them the bug.)
        Sam: What is it?
Clover: Something from a bobsledders nose.
Alex: Ewwww gross! You must have been really undercover for him not to notice."
Clover: I didn't take it from his nose he sneezed it out.

    • NOTES (3)

      • The opening credits for this episode actually has the words of the theme song in it.

      • This episode introduces David, season 2's recurring love interest for all three girls. Sam admires his brains, Alex his athleticism and Clover his artistic side. Naturally Mandy's after him too and manages to date him occasionally. Usually when the spies are preoccupied with saving the world or too busy squabbling with each other over who he likes best. Anyway it becomes a recurring and unresolved problem in other episodes of how can they date David without alienating their friends
