I am thinking of sending my niece the DVD of either the first or second season of "Touched by an Angel" for her birthday.

She is going to be 13. She is also my goddaughter.

I just don't know if some of the stories are too mature for her. For example, the politician's wife who had once been a call girl. Or the policeman addicted to prescription drugs. Or the woman with AIDS.

I guess it all depends on the parent, Im aloud to watch really mature stuff because my parents find me very mature for my age and im only 13, so if you think the same about her then go ahead.

I don't think the series would be inappropriate for a 13 year old. If in doubt, ask her parents if they object, but every controversial subject was handled very tastefully.

Yeah...although some of the issues the angels had to deal with may be more for a mroe mature crowd, they made sure nothing really horrible was shown, and I don't recall any episode in which foul language was used. It's definately one of the cleanest shows I've seen in this day and age.

I think it's appropriate for just about any age.

    God bless.

I don't think 13 is too young to watch TBAA. I mean look at some of the cartoons that air nowadays.

Im a 36yr old mother of one, and i consder this program to be suitable for all ages. If your worried about whether its suitable or not for your neice, speak to the parents as they are the ones that are going to be posed with some interesting questions. Yes the show deals with mature subjects, and its the parents that are going to have to answer those questions that will arise. In the show's there is little profanity if any at all.

Personally I dont think you have much to worry about. But DO talk you gift through with the parents and take their lead. Perhaps you can tape an episode [perhaps one of the more riskier ones - not that any are all that particularly risky] or show the parents of the neice so that they as parents can decide whether it would be an acceptable gift.

    Hope this helps

I watched it when I was 8 and enjoy the re-runs still today [I'm 15, now.] I think it's great for all ages, considering what's on primetime today.

Most 13 year olds these days know too much about that adult stuff IMHO. Your neice probably knows more than you do! I would say that some of the more mature themed shows are not appropriate for anyone under 10, however. Bo

I think this would be a wonderful gift for your niece & a gift like this is more than appropriate for a young lady of 13.  This was one of the best shows ever & it's a shame there aren't more like this on television today.  I hope she enjoys the DVD very much!!!  It's the perfect Christmas gift!!!

I would let my 5-year-old watch it, if she weren't in school when it was on. She is already very interested in all things God (she memorizes Bible verses for FUN & has already told me that Jesus was "very" in her heart). I hope her Godmother DOES get it for her some day!

I think it is appropriate for most/all ages because since i was in kindgergarten or maybe younger (since i can remember) i have been watching it now im 14 and i still watch it to this day (actually i just fiished watching it, it was on austar so me and my sis were watching it) I think so long as its G rated and there is no swearing and no real violence mostly any age should be able to watch it.

I remember watching it with my parents when I was really little. I still watch it now. I agree that it's appropriate for any age.
