After the lame job that last episode did, this one starts to bring the show back into focus. I particulary liked Ian's rivalry with Cal. It's obvious that Ian likes CJ and that is probably where a little of the fuel for his hatred of Cal comes from (CJ and Cal are QUITE the power couple around the school, I understand). To Ian's defense, Cal is a jerk. He rebuffs (no pun intended) Ian's every offer of reconciliation and refuses to work things out. Ian, of course being a 'guy', refuses to overlook the insults and chooses to fight. Though I was glad that he was able to put aside the rivalry (not to mention the bragging rights he probably WoULD have gotten over Cal had he just stayed and won that game) in order to help his friends out of a sticky situation. And to top it all off, there WAS series-advancing material- it seems that the gnomes (the equivalent to guard dogs for the school) are students and, what's more, are being SANCTIONED by one of the school coaches.moreless
  • THE EPISODE!!!!

This is the episode that got me into Tower Prep (Hehe Funny Pun)! Everything was so wonderful. Ian and Cal's rivarly was funny! The concept of Buffer is pretty cool. The mystery of Coach History was interesting! The running scenes where good. It was funny how Gabe stopped the campus police from getting him. The scene where CJ and Gabe ran from the gnomes and Ian came to the rescue was awesome. The fight scenes in this show are a little murky, but they will honestly have you on the edge of your freakin seat (or counch. Whatever you prefer hehe).

This was my first favorite episode, but when Fathers came out, I loved it too. So I can't choose. I guess "Buffer" and "Fathers" are both my favorite episodes of the series.moreless

    • CJ: Everything I've learned in life I've learned from buffer.
Gabe: Hmm, everything I've learned in life comes from begging people not to beat me up.

    • Ian: One game? All this for one game? Well, I mean, I don't know, Coach. Me being so new here and all, you know? Everybody knows me and Cal are practically rivals. It would be so humiliating to fail.
Coach History: You won't fail. You can be great. Why would anyone not want to be great?

    • CJ: We have abilities.
Gabe: CJ, you read micro-emotions. What are you gonna to do? You gonna tell us how happy they are when they beat us up?

    • Suki: Ian. Ian, you alone? Can I come in there?
Ian: No! There's naked guys in here.
Suki: Can you come out here?
Ian: No. I'm one of the naked guys.

    • CJ: I thought I saw green lights in the room. I thought there might be Gnomes in here.
Coach History: What, you think that I hang out with Gnomes? Help them with their homework or something?
