The show that started a nationwide craze for home design and dozens of copycat shows is back and better than ever!
Paige Davis returns and she oversees the efforts of a divorced couple to renovate each other's bedroom. Hildy also returns to Trading Places with a plan to nail rubber rings to the bedroom wall! Faber helps Hildy with his carpentry skills while the newest carpenter Brandon gives our third returnee, designer Doug Wilson a hand with plans to give his bedroom project a more restaurant-like makeover. The last revival failed to stop ratings loss, so the new people in charge of the TLC network let the production company go, along with most of the new decorators, and put a new production team in place. They had a plan to return this once loved show back to the way it once was... 1. Hire Paige Davis back as the fun, popular host. DONE! 2. Get back as many of the popular designers as possible. DONE! Half a dozen are coming back plus the 2 most popular of the newer designers. The 2 new carpenters Brandon and Thad are joined by 2 returning carpenters as well. 3. Go back to the original format, $1000 to each home team and 2 days to get it done. DONE! 4. Add a slight new twist of having some of the homeowners turn out to have some past antagonism in their history, like divorced spouses, rival cheerleaders, sisters and brothers seeking Mom's approval, etc. DONE! 5. And finally, keep the best aspects of the series, whenever they were introduced. So there are 2 carpenters, the carpenter, designer and homeowners watch as the other homeowner sees their transformed room, and at the end when everyone involved gathers together, Paige hands out $500 Home Depot gift certificates at the end of the episode. moreless
