  • a truely great episode dam funny

    9.0
I wrote a review for episode 1 and i said i thought the show had turned a bit rubbish but after watchin this one i apologise this episode was great. I think phil Collins becoming more of a major character is great even if just for the size of his gut.

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • At the train show, David, the Tyson Trains representative, has a large silver remote control in his left breast pocket. When they cut to the scene where Bubbles remarks how Patrick Swayze uses illegal parts we see David in the background, but the remote is absent.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Ricky: Do you know where I can get some weed? I can't find nothing and I am just dying for a toke.
Sebastian Bach: I don't do drugs!
Ricky: Yes, you do. I saw you on the cover of High Times, I know you smoke dope.

    • Border Guard: What's your business in the US?
Julian: Shopping at the factory outlets in Calais.
Border Guard: (motions to Julian to go ahead)
      Julian: What?
      Border Guard: Go ahead.
      Julian: Are you sure?

    • (As Ricky and Julian approach the US border gatehouse, they see a family and their car being searched)
Ricky: Oh man are they ever getting fucked over. (Yells outside through the missing car door) You're suppose to throw your dope away before you get to the border, you fucked up.
      Border Dogs: (barking)
Ricky: (barking at the dogs) Rooow, rooow, roooow, roooow, roow... shut the fuck up!

    • Ray: Hey Bubs... (points at sign along the highway)
      Bubbles: Hot hamburger sandwiches!
Ray: ...equals hot bowl of fuck, over... I'm starvin'... Hot hamburger sandwiches girls!

    • Bubbles: There's ladies up in my seat!
Ray: They needed a ride to Maine. I don't see it's any big deal... they're not going to slow us up.
Bubbles: They're ladies of the evening!
Ray: They're "Friends of the Road" buddy.

  • NOTES (2)

    • Although credited, most of the regular cast did not appear in this episode, including Shelly Thompson (Barbara Lahey), Sarah Dunsworth (Sarah), Patrick Roach (Randy), Lucy Decoutere (Lucy), Jonathan Torrens (J-Roc), John Dunsworth (Jim Lahey), Jeanna Harrison-Steinhart (Trinity) and Tyrone Parsons (Tyrone).

    • Although taking place in Maine, the episode was shot in and around Dartmouth, NS. The border crossing is actually the security gate at the Canadian Forces Base 12 WING Shearwater, and the model train show was shot at Cole Harbour Place.

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • 420

When Bubbles and Ray are in the truck stop we see a sign on the wall that says "Play Lotto 420" (same sign as in the first episode of this season). Also, on the front right of Ray's rig trailer is the number 420 in black tape, and on a highway sign we see that the price of the "Hot Hamburger Sandwiches" was $4.20. Of course "420" is a term that is used to refer to cannabis and the cannabis culture.
