Jeffrey Combs have stated that he will voice Ratchet in the upcoming Transformers animated series, set to premiere this fall on Hasbro/Discovery's new tv channel "The Hub". He claims it's called Transformers: Prime. It will have 26 episodes in it's first season.

Still, the most important thing remains unanswered, will it be traditional animation or CG? I'm hoping for the former.

Hollywood Reporter has revealed that it will be CG. Well, I suppose I could give it a shot.

Peter Cullen will voice Optimus Prime, Frank Welker is also on board though it's not revealed yet which character(s) he'll voice. The only picture released is still only the Bumblebee one. I hope that not all the characters are so similar to their live action movie counterparts. I don't like CG shows, they look crummy and cheap, except The Clone Wars obviously, I hope they throw a hefty budget at this thing. The new G.I. Joe show will apparently be animated in a similar style to G.I. Joe Resolute. Which, if it's true, will be awesome. But Transformers is Hasbro's biggest property, I think, and they have said that "Transformers Animated" has set the standard, and they're gonna try to top it, now, there's a challenge, but I anxiously wait.

Oh, Transformers: Prime will premiere on the new channel "The Hub" 10/10/10, that's the 10th of October this year.

Could you give us a link to the Bumblee Pick? And they got Cullen to do Prime again? Wow. Same thing with getting the Legendary Frank Welker on board.

    Sure thing, here he is:

    http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-prime-39/bumblebee-from-transformers-prime-revealed-169280/

As you can see, the design for this particular character is heavily movie-inspired, only sleeker. Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman who wrote the movies are helming the project, Jeff Kline was recently announced as a writer on the show. Kline worked on shows like Men in Black: The Series and Extreme Ghostbusters. I'm constantly searching for news and will keep updating this thread until the show is added to TV.com

As for Orci and Kurtzman's involvement, look I found the first live action movie to be okay, I think the second is so tremendously awful with the most pathetic attempts at humour I have seen in a very long time. But I think Bay meddled too much, they blame him for "Skids" and "Mudflap" and I give those two the benefit of the doubt, this is definitely a golden opportunity for them to create something special.

Here's a full look at "Transformers: Prime" Bumblebee:

They weren't lying when they said they were mixing the movie designs with Animated's aesthetics. Also, check out the first image of Snake Eyes from the upcoming show G.I. Joe Renegades on the far right.

Hopefully they include Ironhide. I mean, you can't have a Good Sci-Fi Series, especially a Transformers One, without having some kind of Weapons Person.

Major update, too much info to post here, so I'll just post some news about Transformers: Prime, for more info head over to TFW2005.com (link at the bottom)

    - Series probably won't premiere 10/10/10 after all.

    - Frank Welker voices Megatron whose vehicle mode is a jet, and he has the bucket head, design wise more based on the War for Cybertron video game rather than the movies.

    - Other characters include Arcee, Bulkhead, Cliffjumper. - Susan Blu is voice director, may I remind you that she also had a part in the underrated Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood. I just mention that every chance I get.

    - No trailer yet, pictures of Prime, Megatron and Bumblebee only so far.

Today's the day, Comic Con. Let's hope the preview and images hit the web later today as well. Anyway, here's a statue of Optimus Prime from "Transformers: Prime":

    http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-prime-39/transformers-prime-optimus-prime-revealed-170253/

Again, it's very much a blend of "Animated" and "Movie" design, which I really like so far.

A bit disappointed we didn't get a "proper" trailer, but the images of the characters look good.

    James Remar - ?

Strangely, no mention of Jeffrey Combs who was the first to confirm the series name and the characters he would voice.
