  • While not without it's flaws, this episode was fun and full of awesome.

    This was awesome!

To whoever understood some people might not be caught up and made sure that the situation got explained, thank you. :D

While my inner fangirl was screaming for more Bee, honestly, he has a ton of episodes where he takes over, and it's not like he's the only person who cares about Sari. Since I have missed a lot of episodes, and the ones I saw had a lot of Bee in them, this was a nice change of paste, whether my inner fangirl agrees or not. *shoves inner fangirl complaining about the lack of her favorite character into a closet and waits for it to stop whining*

Speaking of Sari, I'm honestly surprised that she's only 8. She seems smarter and more self-managing than that. I thought she was 12. I guess it's just the way she was raised?

When the whole possibility of Sari getting turned into a human transformer came up, I got a huge, mouth agape smile. Meltdown wasn't the only mad scientist in my living room. Because Transformers is such a free and interesting plot follower, people can die for reals, something unexpected happens a lot, etc, I have fallen in love with the story more than anything, which is amazing, seeing how the animation and music's similarities to an old favorite (Super Robot Monkey Team) are why I started watching in the first place. I thought it would be really cool if Sari actually got this ability, but... then I thought about it, and she already has a mini Allspark on her neck. Does she really need anymore power? No. She'd be the worst Mary Sue on Earth. So that part of me got shoved in the closet as well.

Then there was Bulkhead and Prowl. Bulkhead is my second favorite character, and this episode only made me love him more. He showed a lot of heart. And Prowl, honestly, never in the past have I been the fan of the wise character who is well trained and all that stuff, but the more I see Prowl, the more he grows on me. He's so unique and interesting. He's really starting to look like he's made of awesome over here.

Then the Dinobot thing. My inner tomboy, lover of big explosions and swords, had a field day in the later part of the episodes. And what do you know, they're autobots. I didn't know if they had transformed in another episode or not, and was in catch up mode, so I lost a little bit of initial shock there. But when it got clear this was a new fact, I got psyched. Then thy pulled out those swords. Oh my gosh. Giant, flaming swords. Big explosion. Heck yes. All parts of me were happy right there.

Oh, and nice touch with the captain using a giant, uber old cell phone to communicate. It totally fits him.moreless
  • OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG That was one of the best episodes yet!

    10
Once again, Transformers Animated has amazed me in how they can make an awesome episode without suddenly adding new characters. I especially liked how Fanzone's character was developed, this trumps the whole 'make Fanzone a comedy relief in this episode' idea I had. :-D

Meltdown was way better than his introduction. As it adds more to his personality and cruelty the way he got the Dinobots to obey him. He's definately moved up on my list of supervillians for this series.

The Dinobots with their weapons flaming was definately an OMG moment. Especially when it panned to a sky view of the island. I'm still riveted from that scene. I really hope we see more of them before the episode Black Friday. That would really make my day.

I doubt that colossus will be used in any more episodes as he is beginning to become a repetitively annoying comedy excuse. Please do not use him again. I cannot wait for next weeks now, I just hope they don't make it less thrilling as this one.

    • (Captain Fanzone ties Meltdown up with a protective armor)
Meltdown: Dinobots, attack! (the Dinobots get ready to attack)
Prowl: Wait! You don't have to do what he says. Look at him, he has no power now. He cannot hurt you.
Grimlock: Meltdown not hurt Dinobots? Dinobots hurt Meltdown!

    • Captain Fanzone: You're teaching an eight year old to do nerve blows?
Ratchet: You want her to pick it up in the street?
Prowl: This is part of every protoform's elemental programming.
      Captain Fanzone: Say what?
Bulkhead: Yeah, it's not like we're having her fight Decepticons...
      Prowl: Yet.

    • Prowl: I don't understand why the Dinobots would abduct Sari. They only want to be left in peace.
Bulkhead: Well when I'm done with them, they're gonna be left in pieces!

    • Captain Fanzone: You know, you're not a bad guy to have my back... for a machine.
Prowl: So are you... for a human.

    • Bulkhead: I found you. How'd I do that?
      Sari: You're the best!
Meltdown: How touching! I do love a happy ending. It melts the heart, along with other body parts!

    • Captain Fanzone: Has it occured to you that hanging out with Autobots is maybe... I don't know, dangerous for a little girl? (Bulkhead and Ratchet glance at each other)
      Bulkhead: Define dangerous.

    • Captain Fanzone: You are one sick, twisted fruitcake!
Meltdown: Flattery will get you nowhere, Captain.

    • Captain Fanzone: Dibs on Lefty, I hate lawyers.

    • Prowl: Watch it... quicksand.
Bulkhead: I see it, you'd have to be a real glitch-head to get caught in that.
      Captain Fanzone: (Falls in) Help!
Prowl: That sounded like Captain Fanzone! (Prowl and Bulkhead run back to the quicksand)
Captain Fanzone: Yeah, I do a really good impression of myself screaming for help!

    • Captain Fanzone: (Shakes the phone) This is why I hate machines!
Prowl: No need to be such a technophobe, Captain.
Captain Fanzone: A technophobe is someone who fears technology. (Violently slams the phone onto the ground) Does this look like fear to you?!
      Prowl: Um... my mistake.

    • (After the Dinobots transform)
Bulkhead: Uh, they couldn't do that before... Right?

  • NOTES (1)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • Meltdown's Pretenders
Meltdown's two failed test subjects bear a strong resemblence to the Pretender shells for the characters Bomb-Burst and Submarauder from the Pretenders subline of the original Transformers series.

    • Captain Fanzone: You are one seriously messed up fruitcake.

This appears to be a parody from Danny Phantom where the titular character would call his archenemy, Vlad Plasmius, one seriously crazed up fruitloop.
