First aired in Japan on December 20, 2000.
Japanese Title: Counterstrike! Devil Gigatron
In the original Japanese incarnation of this episode, Galvatron's bats were not simply used to hold the children to ransom, but were in fact draining their mental energies. Galvatron recalled them and consumed them, boosting his powers with this energy, whereas in the American version, he simply recalled them because he no longer needed them. The removal of this plot point leads to some confusing scenes in "The Final Battle."
