Megatron believes that the key to a Decepticon victory lies in the North Pole, but, quite suddenly, not just via a new energy scheme. The brilliant, frozen Skyfire awaits, and it turns out he has been there for millions of years. It also turns out that he and Starscream shared something of a friendship in the past, something he unfortunately hasn't forgotten. Now, the Autobots face Skyfire and the results aren't pretty. It seems like Megatron's victory is assured, but the key to convincing Skyfire of the truth involves the captured Spike and Sparkplug.moreless

Skyfire is the most awful character ever. I hate him so very much. The flashback sequence with Starscream and Skyfire was the only worthwhile part.

The aforementioned flashback sequence had one amazing flub: Starscream is a jet 4 million years before he was ever converted to one. Pretty lazy job by the animators considering they already had a template for him from the pilot episode. This episode introduced Skyfire, but was aired after the Ultimate Doom trilogy in which he was also featured. In Japan, The Ultimate Doom was the season finale but was played after Countdown to Extinction which also makes no sense since that was the episode featuring events that occurred after The Ultimate Doom. Pretty stupid. Skyfire also lacks the coordination to not crash into the crystals that he is destroying at the end of the episode which is even more stupid. Quite frankly, I was happy that he crashed.

This episode featured a cool fight sequence between Optimus and Megatron at the North Pole. Unfortunately, a true fan of the show is obligated to see this episode which is really a shame.moreless
