Quest for Survival
AIRED:
Though the Insecticons are a growing threat, a new insecticide may be able to stop them in their tracks. A trip into space is required to get it, but Bumblebee, Cosmos and Spike easily succeed. Unfortunately, the path back to Earth means a confrontation with the Morphobots, dangerous hybrids of plants and robots. As bad as a space confrontation is, things get worse when some Morphobots secretly arrive on Earth with Spike and the two Autobots. The whole team will have to find a way to tamp down this threat, a task made more difficult by the Decepticons now after the insecticide.moreless

  • A horde of robotic insects or a growing robotic plant menace? Which is worse, in this creepy episode?

    8.0
An interesting episode with 2 stories that meet and conclude each other.

The Insecticon army of clones is regarded as a large threat to the world's crops, to the Autobots, and potential rivals for the Decepticons.

While it gives the Insecticons credibility to be recognized as such, it's too bad they never explained the limits of their clones; like how hard will it be for them to remake the army.

I loved the scene where Megatron amasses tons of energon cubes from the Insecticons' harvest (eating), but only rewards them with 3.

Also, it was neat that Megatron wanted the insecticide to use against the Insecticons; it's too bad he changed his mind inexplicably and blew up the insecticide canister.

Interestingly, Spike had travelled to space planets/or asteroids with Bumblebee and Cosmos; so I wonder if he was equipped with some experimental exo-spacesuit or something?

The morphobots were pretty creepy, but nice to see Blaster come to the musical rescue! Also intersting was his walking ghetto-blaster mode.

And it's always nice to see Insecticons fight Decepticons; even more when they have a personal link like with Thrust.

The clone army moving straight into the morphobot jungle was a clever climax that eliminated the greater threat, and proving to be a type of insecticide after all!

It's funny how Prime sends them to a planet of robotic insects, although I wish the insects win ...cause those plants were creepy!!!moreless
