Episode Summary

EDIT
War Dawn
AIRED:
Megatron threatens Cybertron once again. Though the Autobots and the Aerialbots offer up stiff resistance, the Decepticons are still able to garner a victory of sorts. The Decepticons manage to trap the Aerialbots in a time warp, and they arrive in the distant past. It is the time of Orion Pax, and Alpha Trion ensures that he and others have a big future. Meanwhile, the Megatron of the past is ready to begin his conquest. Though these are pivotal moments in Transformer history, the Aerialbots are more interested in finding a way back to their own time.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • Goofs: It seemed the entire second act when the Aerialbots were in the past, the voices and music seemed to be at a slightly slower pace than the rest of the episode.

    • At one point during the chase scene between the Aerialbots and the Seekers, Slingshot is painted black instead of white.

    • In the scene Aerialbots are running towards the warehouse, Ariel is with them, but later she is shot in the warehouse before the Aerialbots get there.

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Megatron: A warrior doesn't need a head. Just a good, strong body!

    • Megatron: Who...Who are you?!
      Optimus Prime: Your worst nightmare!

    • Megatron: Destroy them! Destroy the Guardians!
Optimus: You've caused enough destruction for one day, Megatron!
      Megatron: I haven't even started.

    • Young Alpha Trion: You may not recognize him, for he is no longer Orion Pax. He is the first of our new defenders...Optimus Prime!
Optimus: I was wrong, my friends. I admired Megatron simply because he was powerful. I failed to see how he used that power.
Slingshot: Aw, that's okay. We all made the same mistake.

  • NOTES (12)

    • In this episode, John Stephenson did not provide the voice of Thundercracker.

    • It looked as if Orion Pax was able to fly (indicated by the jet blast noise when he jumped into the air) when he tried to battle Megatron before he was shot down.

    • Ratchet is missing his Transformer logo from his chest (18:38).

    • The logo on Optimus' trailer is in the wrong location (6:44).

    • Starscream is missing his Decepticon logo from his left wing (6:34).

    • Slingshot is missing his Autobot logo from his left shoulder (3:36).

    • During the following times: (2:36), (5:24), (8:26), (14:53), (18:30), and (21:19); Ratchet is either missing one red cross or both from his shoulders.

    • When the Aerialbots bring the injured Orion Pax for repairs, a young Alpha Trion says he detects a strong spirit within Orion, in this day and age it's an obvious reference to his spark. One of the strongest sparks of all Transformers.

    • It is clearly unknown as who Dion was rebuilt. It's possible that he became either Ironhide or Ultra Magnus.

    • In a recent interview for the Season 3 and 4 DVD box set, writer David Wise says that the meeting between Orion Pax and Megatron happened differently. In the original version of the script, Megatron was to shoot Orion in the shoulder which would have caused his arm to come off. Megatron would then take the arm and use it to decapitate Orion. Understandably, Sunbow had David Wise change it.

    • We learn that Alpha Trion made Elita 1 from Ariel and Optimus Prime from Orion Pax.

    • First, last and only appearance of Ariel, Dion and Orion Pax.
