Episode Summary

A baroque masterpiece in England, Blenheim was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 for its architectural importance. Not just a house but a palace, it was created by an act of Parliament--the gift of a grateful nation to the Duke of Marlborough, who had dashed the ambitions of Louis XIV of France. Blenheim is also the birthplace of the duke's most famous descendant, Sir Winston Churchill, who is buried at nearby Bladon.moreless
