  • this was the finale?

this has to be the most disappointing reality show finale i have ever seen in my entire life. live? this wasn't live. a third of it, maybe, was live. they should have said "partially live." the part where the geniuses figure out the cryptex was cool, and that's where the show should have ended. i felt like the producers were milking it for one more episode. the portion where the $10K winners competed for $100k was like watching paint dry. they walked to each destination. WALKED. no matter how much suspenseful music you play, film of someone WALKING is NOT suspenseful. the talking to the contestants part was really boring. overall, a "meh" ending to a pretty good series. i hope the network renews it.
  • The season finale--finally.

First, I'd like to give two thumbs up to this episode for its lightning paced, non-stop (and unlike The Amazing Race) and without any awkward equilizers thus giving teams a chance to catch up action.

Second, I'd like to congratulate The Geniuses for winning the cash. However, I would have liked to have seen Team Air Force win because of their never give up attitude and I felt as though The Geniuses did give up once all three teams reached the treasure room. I mean, heck, Sam even FELL ASLEEP!! Sam, you have a chance to win "millions of dollars" and you are SLEEPING??!! However, I couldn't give the finale a higher rating because the live portion of it was just dreadful. Not only did we have to sit through the dreadful, watered-down version of the game being played by online winners, but we also had to see Laird awkwardly grab The Geniuses away from the group while they were in the middle of celebrating all because it was a live show. In closing, did anyone notice the small print at the end of the credits, stating:

"The $3,000,000 prize is payable in the form of a monthly annuity payment to each winning team member paid over 25 years totaling $1,000,000 or any winning team member may choose to receive a cash prize equivalent to the present cash value of his/her annuity."

    Until, maybe, next season...
