A really good episode of Treme tonight, and for once it was not purely because of John Goodman's character (although he did have another one of his genius rants on the interweb.)
It was Mardi Gras in New Orleans and of course that led to the characters wearing some ridiculous outfits for our amusement. But it was not just the cheap laughs here. We had some excellent character development, and for once truly got a sense of where David Simon is going with this show, and I am on board for this ride.
Next Sunday everyone who watches HBO will be talking about True Blood, but Treme is clearly superior to that moronic vampire abomination.
I have complained about the show's dilatory pace, but it worked here tonight in one of the season's best.moreless
The people of New Orleans prepare for the arrival of Fat Tuesday. Janette (Kim Dickens) and Davis (Steve Zahn) enjoy a brief romantic encounter, while Creighton (John Goodman) must decide whether to move back into the main house. Meanwhile, Antoine (Wendell Pierce) traipses through town playing every musical gig he can get.
