"What is New Orleans?" is a strong episode of Treme and I say that for a few reasons. First off, everything was able to be followed, nothing was too complicated, like the case often is with a David Simon show. I also say it because there were a lot of fun scenes here and one surprising way to end the show. Anytime you go out with a bang (no pun intended) it is usually a good way to have viewers counting the hours until your next new episode.
Treme needs to keep it simple, like they did today, and I'll like the show much more. We get it, they are trying to be as authentic as possible, but that comes with a price in the TV world (see the show's dismal ratings.)moreless
LaDonna (Khandi Alexander) continues to fight with her husband about working in the bar. Antoine (Wendell Pierce) gets a harsh lesson about poaching crowds from other jazz bands. Davis (Steve Zahn) finally thinks he has someone to add to his prospective record label when he discovers a young rapper.
