  • nothing much happens, but it still manages to entertain

    9.0

“Goodbye for now” sees Vash try and escape his lifestyle and become a member of a family. He lives a normal life until Wolfwood shows up, and his family is kidnapped by a bunch of thugs. Wolfwood manages to convince Vash to help him on his quest. After much persistence Wolfwood gets his way and Vash leaves the family. And that’s about it. No Millie and Meryl, just Vash and Wolfwood. So basically nothing much happens, but it still manages to entertain. A great episode with some more character development, as Vash keeps on remembering Rem and Knives. 9 out of 10

    • Vash: I could've destroyed this whole planet with that Angel arm of mine.

    • (Wolfwood holds his crucifix like a rifle as he and Vash approach the 200 bandits.)
      Vash: Don't kill anybody.
Wolfwood: That's like telling me not to breathe.
Vash: Thou shalt not kill; what kind of church man are you?

    • Granny: Lina, what happened to him (Erics) last time?
Lina: He tried to stop two drunks from fighting.
Granny: And the time before that?
Lina: He fell off a Thomas.

    • Bandit: (to Erics) That's not good enough, blondie! If you're gonna go down on all fours, the least you can do is act like a dog, and I expect some real commitment. Naturally that means getting naked.

    • Erics: Oh, hey! We're really sorry you didn't find it funny. She's only a little 12 year-old. Come on, have a heart.
