Episode Summary

EDIT
Vash rests in a seemingly peaceful town of LR, thinking about Wolfwood and what to do next. But the peace is interrupted by Midvalley the Hornfreak who attacks and repels with his saxophone's sound waves. But Midvalley isn't the only enemy involved, as town folk are being forced in the line of Midvalley's fire by Legato's special manipulations. Vash confronts Legato, who is more than ready to die by Vash's hands, if it means pushing Knives' agenda, and threatening more innocent bloodshed along the way.moreless

Can one make choices that decide ones own life and death and not worry about the costs and consequences to another? Can you save the butterfly caught in the web without letting the spider die? In an episode where penultimate philosophies clash, Vash is forced to to finally make a choice between the two as Knives plan to leave Vash in eternal anguish is set into motion. Despite grieving for the loss of Wolfwood, Vash finds himself in another city that Knives has his eyes set upon. Midvalley the Hornfreak and Legato Bluesummers finally take arms directly against Vash in what is possibly the best episode of Trigun. Just like all roads lead to Rome, all philosophies lead to this point.moreless
  • I wish Vash would just stop messing around saving everyone and just pop off the enemy when he has the chance

    9.0

“Sin” see’s Vash face of with the final members of the Gung Ho Guns. Everyone tries to overcome the death of Wolfwood, and go to a town to chill out. The other members of the Gung Ho Guns show up, and Vash must protect the people. He tries to deal with the Guns without killing them, putting himself in danger as he tries to protect civilians. This episode has a nice showdown at the end where Vash is forced to kill his enemy to save Millie and Meryl. This makes him very upset causing him “Eternal pain and suffering”.

Overall this is a great episode . 9 out of 10.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Legato: (kneeling before Vash so his head is at Vash's gun) Go ahead. It won't bother me. An egotistical being like myself can't be allowed to live. Give me nothingness. Give me death. He is waiting. He is looking forward to your visit. I put on your left arm because you aren't by his side. Shoot me.
      Vash: I can't.
      Legato: Shoot me.
      Vash: I CAN'T!

    • Legato: Do you hate me? I suppose you do. So many sad things happened to you because of me. Be it friend or foe, everyone you meet dies. It's enough to dry up your tears forever.
      Vash: Shut up!!
Legato: But it isn't over yet. Did you think it would end this easily?! You are not human. I will teach you that as a courtesy.

    • Legato: (thinking) Long, long ago, we should have died the instant we fell upon this sandy land...without pain, and without sorrow. The schedule has only been set back a little. The end is around the corner.

    • Chapel: T-The cornered mouse will attack the cat!
Knives: That's because the mouse is seeking death...in order to escape the pain.

    • Knives: Even the word 'foolish' fails to describe you.

    • Legato: I understand...master. Vash the Stampede shall feel eternal pain and suffering.
