A good ending, but not one I didn't see coming. The show is running on fumes right now which is unfortunate given the run it had from its premiere.

True Blood slowed to a crawl this week as debts were repaid and Z storylines were paid off at the expense of much more interesting ones in what may be one of the most lackluster installments before the penultimate episode of any series in recent memory.

Sookie and Bill, having hooked up again, talk about his impending death while Eric and Pam corner Sarah Newlin and Eric drinks her and cures himself of his Hep-V while Junior explains to them his plan, back at Fangtasia for some reason yet we already bid farewell to it not so many weeks ago, that they will release Nu Blood as a way to counteract Hep-V shortly because if they merely rolled out an all out cure there would be no cure in it for them. Eric and Pam don't necessarily agree with this as all the vamps out there without the means to afford it will surely die (AIDS allegory intact as it is) but when Sookie is visited by Eric and is told that Bill has accelerated Hep-V because of her blood he rushes to help her, and by extension Bill who he owes for his friendship or something I guess, and break him into the basement of Fangtasia through the hole in the wall Bill himself made not too long ago. When they reach Sarah, who Sookie gives a stern talking too about being morally messed up, Bill refuses to drink for some reason and that ends the episode. Why he refuses doesn't really make a lick of sense but Bill does seem more resigned to his death than someone ought to be so I'm guessing we'll get some waffled in answer next week and hopefully we might finally get some conflict going between Bill, Eric, Pam and Gus Jr and his Yakuza thugs. Also, Sookie going to Fangtasia to plead with Eric for Bill's life and him posing her as an insatiable fangbanger was a nicely humorous moment in an otherwise lackluster installment.

Lettie Mae and Lafayette get Daniels to trip V with them and see the day that Tara could've killed her abusive father but didn't. So now that we know that, we still don't care.

No verdict in this episode either on the should Sam stay or go bit either which isn't missing much.

The only other eventful bit of the episode was Hoyt and Jessica reconnecting as he learns that Bill is sick and goes to the clinic to give some of his blood (being clean of the Hep V virus) his re-attraction to Jessica makes sense and I'm sure they might find some magical plot device to make him remember in the coming weeks. Also, how strong is Hoyt's relationship that he knows for sure that he doesn't want kids that he will fly off the handle on his partner and she would just glide right into Jason's arms? I don't get it but this reaks of soap opera tropes like none other trying to rekindle the innocent love that Trubies once clamored for back in the Seasons 2-3 for Jessica and Hoyt forever before he became a selfish douche which would no doubt happen again after too long.

But this is True Blood and if anything can spring ridiculous plot developments out of its ass it's this show that can do it. I only hope we get more than Bill refusing to drink the cure and Hoyt and Jessica pining for one another in the weeks to come, after all this is the final two episodes after all writers, come on!moreless
